As some of you know, I am really new to the ML game and I just purchased a new .50 caliber lyman GPH. When I ordered it, I also ordered a .50 caliber bullet sizing pack from No Excuses. So today, after cleaning all the shipping grease out of the barrel I started to use the sizing pack. A short story shorter, all slide down effortlessly save for the .504. But even the .504 (the largest they make) went in with very light/moderate pressure from my thumb and even less from the ramrod to seat it. Is this right?
I have heard the term "slip fit" a few times but thought that it only applied to bullets deliberately undersized with hollow bases. Are No Excuses bullets slip fit? Is this what paper patching is for? I'm not sure where to go from here since I'm not sure a bullet that was that easy to load will be good for hunting?
Any input will be much appreciated and thanks again everyone for helping me figure this all out.
