I am somewhat new to White muzzleloaders and I am looking to acquire a White Thunderbolt. I have been told they are few and far between but any help is appreciated.

I have one on .504 as do a few other dwbs, ya either love them or hate them.

Me, I love mine its super accurate with big chunks of lead or sabots .I black iced it and have a Lyman 57 site on it . Doc bedded it for me too.

They are getting harder and harder to find
Best bet to keep an eye on auction sites or check in with Doc from time to time.

Thank you for your suggestion.

Evening: What does black iced mean?

As ShawT said it's a teflon coating, it makes the action super smooth and weather resistant. I've seen no signs of wear or chipping. It only coats the outside of the bore and all parts not the inside of the bore . Highly recommended by myself .
Since getting my thunderbolt I've only seen one other for sale and sharpshooter got that one and did a trade with doc I believe. What I like most about the thunderbolt is the ability to shoot bh209, you can't do that in the other plunger style white muzzloaders . If it has a downside it's the weight ,rather heavy if scoped .

Thank you for the information.

Morning: Can you show pics of the Bison that you had the black ice applied?

Go to the DWB gallery, check post #62 middle S91. That is a Black Iced S91 .451. Black Ice can do a rifle in many different colors. They can also dip stocks and scopes to match.

Morning: Not sure how to find the gallery. Still learning my way around MM.

And, oh by the way... I was one of the initial product testers for the "Blunderbolt" as I so lovingly call it. I didn't know I was to be a product tester - thought I was buying a tested great rifle. Nooooooo! Bob Bowers and I gave a lot of input on how to "fix" that design and some of that was incorporated. Mine went back to White Rifles and I did not hate to see it go. Never again for me no matter what they improved. I would take any of their commercial models over that one.

I am still looking to acquire a White Thunderbolt. Thank for your comment.
