My love affair with coffee began in the mid 1970s with my frozen fingers wrapped around a canteen cup of GI coffee somewhere in the middle of a German forest working on a Pershing missle.
I've made campfire coffee just grounds and water, pouring cool water on top to settle the grounds.
I drink my coffee black and I like a dark roast .
What say you? what's the best way to make coffee ? Milk? Sugar? Cream? Sweetnlow? The ruination of good coffee if you ask me. Black coffee and none of that which has passed through a ringtail or whatever varmint that is. Seriously what are they thinking???

Fond of hazelnut myself.
Bought a percolator a couple years ago. Makes a big difference. My oldest uses a French press. Great coffee, but a tad labor intensive.
Never was into the stuff until I started reenacting. NOTHING beats a cuppa from a tin mucket, heated over a wood fire, usually on a 90 degree day... Glad my gray suit isn't as hot as that Union blue when the sun gets high...
Deo Vindice!

A good medium roast in the morning, drip grind, good drip coffeemaker that has a good temp, black only. Some evenings i enjoy a dark roast. I have friends that roast their own and thats always a blessing. Now back to my cup.......

French press makes outstanding coffee using fresh ground quality 100 percent Arabica beans. 90 degrees is a little warm to drink coffee here in Texas unless it's early morning and you haven't had any yet. Somewhere between 10 and 11am it switches to iced Tea.

Agreed my friend across the road roasts his own from green beans it really does make an excellent cup.

Nope, simply got tired of cheap "techno" coffee makers that die in a year. This thing is a beast and has a feature i like...flat bottom filter so grind is a little less finicky. In a cone bottom if the grind is too fine it can overflow and makes a mess. The Bunn is almost entirely mechanical and its tank is made from stainless.

They must make a great product I see them in almost every restaurant as I travel between knife shows. I do go thru about a coffee pot a year and a toaster oven as well.

At retail they are over priced. I got a really good deal when the BX was on sale. The vast majority of the time when a coffee maker dies its the electronics and very hard to trouble shoot. The Bunn has 2 switches and a heating element. Not much else that can fail. The main negative is the 800watt tank warmer is on all the time. If you turn it off it takes a good 15min to get back upto temp. You also better make sure you replace the carafe before closing the lid or you got a mess. :D

I own every device to make coffee, black coffee that is. Texas style with the boots! I seem to like the French press for full flavor. Hmmm , I think I’ll make some now.

Well folks so far black coffee rules, only a couple people seem to like flavors or other contamination in thier coffee. I won't even pretend to be unbiased ha ha . So what kind of coffee is your favorite? I'm drinking Lone Star French roast by Cameron's. Great coffee at
