WHAT A SHOW THIS MORNING!

Setting here and all of a sudden, spotted a young bobcat making a sneak out back. I got the wife's attention and we watched it make a dash for one of the squirrels. The squirrel headed up one of the nearest trees it could find with the bobcat right after it. The bobcat damn hear caught the squirrel, which leapt from the tree and headed to another. What a show!
I grabbed the camera and at least caught a photo of the cat in the tree.

Being right next door to wildlife has some real nice benefits in spite of their obvious shenanigans.

I can see where trying to stay on focus with that cat would be a real test. Fun stuff though.

Never a dull moment for sure. That cat is sooooooo fast! Once I see it out there, then jump up and grab the camera and get to the back door, things happen really quick. It would be easier if I weren't trying to video through the back door glass.
The video I wish I would have gotten was when the bear thought he wanted the bird feeders. That 50 mile fence charger LIT HIM UP!

The cat does present a problem that we have to be extremely careful about. Our Shih Tzu is old and has cataracts with little vision and her hearing is pretty bad. We don't let her outside without being right with her 100% of the time.

Given the pet issue I think that cat would become a wall hanging real quick. Any of the wild cats are unpredictable. We saw a cougar at our cabin....in the yard no less....two days in a row. Carole and her elderly mother liked to take a stroll each morning down the 1/2 mile lane to the pond and back but I wouldn't let them until I knew that cat was in other areas. I sort of helped it along with a shotgun blast in the air the second time I saw it. Hard to imagine a cat that size moving so fast. lol
We see a lynx now and then when its cooler but they seem to keep right on moving thru. I'd rather have a wolf in the yard than one of the cats.

IF...…... it continues to hang around, a fur harvester license will be in order. Always told the wife I'd like a mount laying across the fireplace mantle ;)
For some reason...… she thinks I already have enough mounts?????

Word of advice.....don't call it a mount. Tell her its a rug. Much easier to sell her a rug.
