I'm holding a few bucks in my tin can in the yard. I'm putting off buying anything until this new wonder rifle makes an appearance. Just curious, I live in the PNW and we cant use scopes for muzzy only seasons. Will this rifle have an option for barrel sights and better yet, an option for a peep sight? I will check back :lewis:

This ML will have a short barrel and very lite. It will be amazing for the mountains and for people who cant sit still lol. And it wont be a long range ML thats for sure.

I’d still like to see a few pics of this mysterious rifle. Any estimate of when it will be on the market? Adjustable trigger? Plastic stock? Nitride metal? Peep sight compatible? Scope base? I hope it is worth the wait.

Info i would find interesting

OD of the barrel at the breach and length of that max OD?.... A full 1.1-1.25" for around 5" would add some weight but also make it one of the strongest ever made. Only the CVA Apex was 1.1" and its history.

Scope base compatibility?...The more universal the better or include a very good 1 piece rail.

New breach plug design or gunna use what Lehigh has already offered for Knights?...I would change 1 thing....Make the powder side pocket 45cal so a patched jag dont catch as easily. Ive had this happen on rare occasions. Its very aggravating to have this happen when you just want to give it a quick swabbing before heading home after a long day. The smaller "powder pocket" diameter solves this with no negative effect.

Nitride is sorta nice but you cant black nitride a alloy frame. It would need a coating, anodized or other form of nitride that is not black. Im not aware of a black nitride for aluminum or aluminum alloys. Nitride might be a great thing to offer to some internal parts that are harder to clean with routine cleaning. This has always been my complaint with people that say break actions are easier to clean yet you cant get at the internals at all on most of them. Its a flush with cleaners/solvents, re-oil and just hope for the best.

The ATF has it now. It wont be ready before November in my opinion. Alot of time and money being spent to make this right i assure you. I havent even tested the new version yet.

This is a great idea. While there have been many great strides into long range custom ML very accurate rifles, I feel the under 200 yards and carry hunter ML has been forgotten.
This sounds super.
Myself , I’ve been making short barreled “carbines if you will “ ML’s.
Using Rem 700 ML and 209 BP .
My group of friends prefer peep sights. I try to incorporate a scope mount that will take a peep like XS -Sights low or Williams Ace in the Hole.
I do this for we have iron. sight only hunts. Really nice to easy convert.
So in conclusion I’d like to see a short rifle with this sight feature.

I agree, just got word my new barrel will be here next week. Im excited for this cause it's a 1/20 twist. Ive had some problems with the 1/22 with some long bullets.

Even at SML speeds the 1-22 has issues with some bullets. Not many but some of the newer very high BC offerings. A 40cal 1.27" is really long for a 1-22 no matter how fast you shoot it.

For the average muzzleloader if it's not for sale at cabelas, bass pro or the like they wont know about it.

Does Lehigh plan on marketing anyplace

If it’s what I think it is, it will garner a following. I’ll buy one.
If it’s what I think it will be I may even consider selling my smokeless Encore to get one, the gun I didn’t think I’d ever sell. That may be a stretch, but it’s a thought that’s crossed my mind.
If it’s what I think it is, there will be more info about it here. I saw something elsewhere and if I can put 2 and 2 together, I think I have it figured out but it’s not for me to say because it’s all hypothetical. I suspect Grouse May share about it soon if I’m right about it as the cats out of the bag at least on one other site.
