I am looking for a synthetic stock for a MK. Which of the other Knight stocks will work? LK, BK, etc...? Thanks

I found this thread because I'm very suspicious of my setup: MK85 barreled action on a Knight Wolverine (LK93) camo Thumbhole stock. I realize it's been stated that the swap from stock to stock will work, but my action will roll right to left with down pressure applied to the scope and the lug screw & trigger removed. It makes me wonder if the lug actually bottoms-out on the stock the way it's supposed to (prior to using the stock screw). Should an LK93 stock be deemed, say, a 1 to 1-1/2 moa option for an MK - would anybody think? I know my non-MK stock has no recoil pad or forend shape like those in the photos above, and remember it did come off an LK93. When I first got the MK there was no stock with it. Hope you can weigh-in with opinions or experience - thanks.

Your best option would be to bed the lug and action area.

Personally, I wouldn't put an MK into an LK stock. Hunt around and find an MK stock, they are readily available it seems - ebay, auction sites, forum classifieds, etc. The LK stock will work, but its so much cheaper than the MK stocks are.

Yes, cheaper also in accuracy too, I do highly, highly suspect. I'm probably in the mood to sell the stock. If I could find an MK85 recoil pad I'd be making the transition.

I'm also going to depart with the 209 conversion kit, I do believe

You didn't miss anything. I can get my hands on a stock elsewhere, and a cheap slip-over pad too, I just found out. I know this is why I have such accuracy problems nowadays. Initially worked out excellent on accuracy for say 100 or 150 shots, but something changed big time. I changed out every piece except barrel, stock and trigger. Slugged the barrel with the 0.510" OD Knight 310gr black saboted , took me a full 5 minutes I went so slow, not a loose spot anywhere, bore light and eyeball also show no discernable wear at the breech end, or anywhere else. Scope setup's stationary as concrete. Going to a swap meet this weekend, may find items there.

Ok. So you have the MK85 stock that did not come with the original Knight pad but had a slip on pad with it. Think I got it. If you don't find one post back. I don't have an actual MK 85 stock anymore but we might do some measuring and see if one from an MK95 would fit if I have a spare, where ever that might be.:rolleyes:

Well, I believe I can get an MK85 stock if need be somewhere else. Yeah, I'll bet that 95 buttpad would be close as they get, just estimating. You might turn up with something there! Thanks.

The real screw-on recoil or butt pad is the unavailable part. You got it.

I picked up a set of 3 countersunk 1/4-20x1" lug screws. They are visually identical to my original. The Allen size fit might turn out to be one size smaller - rather not open the bag right now. There was a time when Knight had that little bushing between the screw head and the stock. Don't remember what kind of screw that setup used. My LK93 stock hole is indeed countersunk and it seems to be so done with molded-in polymer (insert). I don't know what kind of hole I'll get with a to-fit-MK85 non-Knight- manufactured stock.

Got to research more on when I'm legal to sell. Will advise.........

Got MK85 stock ordered. Didn't find the recoil pad.

Is it a "Knight brand" stock or an after market. Reason I ask is that an aftermarket will most likely be Flat on the end and you can put any aftermarket pad on it, such as Pachmayr or Limbsaver. Most of the Knight stocks had the pad "Keyed" to the stock, meaning that the pad a a little flange that slipped inside of the stock. You'll need to see what you get.

Thanks. I made inquiry about the holes in the stock, but inletting on edges of the butt I didn't think about. Will find that out tomorrow morning.
