wow, you guys are changing the way I look at muzzleloaders.I've always thought of a gun as a tool, something utilitarian, that gets the job done efficiently. My wooden stocked bp guns were both wrapped in camo tape.I left the tape on too long on
my new englander, and when I peeled it off it left a white residue.while not affecting the performance I left it that way.I'm ashamed to say it's butt ugly. The photos on this site show me that a firearm can be a beautiful thing. maybe an off-season
refinishing project is on the way. Thanks for a new outlook,
John

That's a beauty and very unique. Congratulations in giving it a life and taking a nice animal with it.

Very beautiful gun, you are a craftsman and an artist. Great job on the hunt as well.

AWESOME build, that is 1 great looking rifle and pics prove it is a SHOOTER. Congrats on your buck!

Congrats!
Good job.

Just as an FYI - there are guys at Friendship who do some slight modifications to Pete’s action to give it an adjustable trigger.

Also, have you thought about color case hardening the action ($150) and/or a period MVA style scope? I know sometimes this stuff can never end, but so far you labor has paid off.

Outstanding!! That's the first thing I change on all my rifles, Musket cap ignition is totally reliable. I have never had a misfire or hangfire.

Incredible! That’s my next big project I think, a wood stock for my Austin & Halleck. Don’t expect to get anywhere near as nice as that looks. Excellent work!!
