I drew a doe antelope for muzzleloader season too. Also a September rifle bear tag. Looks like OTC for elk & hopefully pick up a returned deer tag.

My units are otc with caps for bear so ill pick up one for the wife for muzzleloader season and a concurant rifle bear tag for me. I'm pretty excited about the doe speed goat tag ya dont find much better eatting than one of them fat Ag land does out here!

The new system screwed me. I failed on all my tags. Tags that I get every year with no problems.

It's the reason I sold the gun and bought a bamboo fly rod. I'm done with the draw. I can fish every day of the year and do it with a free senior fishing license.

Yes the new system sucks bad! My deer tag went from the leftover list in 2017 to 400 people not drawing in 2018 we were lucky. My elk tag went from 1700 tags left over to only 800 leftover. My speed goat tag didnt change any.

Yeah it stinks but what can you do? Not hunting is NOT an option for me! There’s always OTC tags...

It will become an option when you get older.

 True, VERY True! Old age, My Grandfather once said he wouldn’t recommend it to anyone  He lived to 97 years old

Iv turned over a new leaf in life that im hoping will buy me a few extra years in the woods. So far this year iv dropped over 50 pounds gained a ton of muscle and really improved my cardio and endurance game. I went from old age at 30 to about where a 30 year old should be physically back to loving life!

It won't help. I worked out my whole adult life. I even ran a gym for awhile. Always ate natural foods, didn't smoke, no drugs, and never had much fat on me. Even when I weighed 230lbs my waist was 32".

I still got old and feel it.

LOL! You sure ain’t giving much for Positive advise here Pete!

Old age is a BOOGER and obviously nothing you can do to stop it. I was rough on myself from late teens to about mid 30s, i never was a Drug kinda guy, But i sure did my share of Drinking Booze, Drunk Driving, Fighting, Going to Jail, Get out and Repeat. Had i not changed, I would have ended up under a Jail. Working in the Woods as a Logger/Timber Faller all of my life, i worked REALLY hard, and Played REALLY hard. MANY of my bones have been broke at 1 time or another, That stuff catches up with ya, and you get to pay for it until you can die.

I have had SEVERE Gout for about 15 years now. My Ankle was first, then my Knee, my Elbow, Wrist, fingers, and last Inside my Achilles Tendon down at the bottom where it attaches to the Heel (VERY RARE to get it inside the Tendon Sheath, LUCKY ME!) I doubt there’s a home remedy I haven’t tried? Some helped a little, most none at all. Talk about a Humbling thing, That pain is more intense than all broken bones i can remember. Heck of thing when you can’t sleep, afraid to eat, and not eat, Have to Hop, or Crawl to the Bathroom, Attacks could be Months instead of weeks, I finally found a Medicine that seems to be working well for me, it’s called Uloric at 347 dollars for 30 pills :yeah: In my teens, 20s, and most of my 30s you Couldn’t have convinced me that any of this was real, or could/would ever happen to me. We are Durable, Yet Fragile

Yes, we're stupid when we're young. So many years of lifting heavy weights wore out all my joints. On top of that, I got Osteoporosis and break bones easily. I broke my back 6 times in the last 5 years. It healed bent over. Never used a brace. I look like i'm 90 now.

I could go on and on about stuff wrong with me, but nobody wants to hear it and I don't want to talk about it.

Bottom line is getting old sucks! My best friend is 100% Lakota. He's only a couple of years younger than me and is as strong as a bull. Big guy at 6'4" and 240lbs. His Indian name is Tall Soldier. He cuts firewood for a living. He can carry out an average size deer whole that's just been gutted. I've seen him do it for miles up and down the mountain. He even has all his hair at 73. Some guys are just lucky. We used to wrestle each other when we were younger. I'd never try it now.

My 12 yr. old grandson got a Bull Youth Tag and my 13 yr. old grandson got a Bull Youth Tag. :applause: :applause: Thanks Colorado for your Youth program.

Sweet

Well, I bought another muzzleloader and will hunt next year. I thought we were supposed to get smarter when we get older?

My Lakota friend talked me into going elk hunting next year. He said he'd haul all the meat out for me. In exchange, i'll show him one of my better elk spots. He'll hunt bow season and i'll hunt muzzy season. They're at the same time in Colorado so we can hunt together.

We'll both go for cow tags. Very easy tags to get in the draw for muzzy and archery. They both go to a 4th pick every year, so as a 1st pick they're a sure thing. Even with the new stupid system.

I have herd a lot of on this maybe ste state of Colorado is listening!!!

Colorado manages for maximum $$$$. You shouldn't have got me started. I grew up living in and hunting elk in Colorado. Even worked for the then Colo Division of Wildlife right out of college in during the 1980's. Still hunt there although I dont live there anymore. The OTC tags ensures that everyone that wants a Colo tag can get a Colo tag. They manage the herds strictly with season lengths and antler restrictions. My dad had enough and quit hunting altogether back in the 80's when they shrunk the deer season down to only 3 days and 4 points on a side. it just keeps going down hill. So many people have quit hunting Colorado that they are having trouble selling tags. You can draw multiple tags in Colorado now. No interest in providing a quality hunt, Just want to sell sell sell those tags. And new for 2019, in addition to purchasing a $661.75 elk licence, you are now also required to buy an $85 non resident small game license that you likely don't want. And then there is the cost for a preference point, which i think is now around $50. I love the Colorado I grew up in, but if it were not for my longtime buddies that I have hunted with annually for 36 years now, I would be looking elsewhere.
