Is there anything special to cleaning a smokeless muzzleloader or just treat it like a regular centerfire? Also, how long would you leave one loaded during hunting season assuming you weren’t out in the rain or snow? With black powder I always push out my load, clean the gun and start new each day.

I have a Savage SML and I clean it like a centerfire, not too often. If is is dry and their is no condensation on the barrel I have kept it loaded for over a month and never had a fail to fire, others shoot it out each evening.

Same here. I keep electrician's tape over the muzzle when it is loaded for an indicator as well as keeping out rain and snow. I'm going to need more tape now because of the muzzlebrake on the Scout V2!

as a indicator??? electricians tape will slowly peel off when moisture hits a certain level???

Huh? I keep Black electrician tape over the Muzzle of my Centerfires when hunting to Keep Rain/moisture out, Have been doing so all of my Life. I have had the Same Black Tape over a Muzzle the entire Season without a Problem. I put it on in the House when the Rifle is Clean, and Dry, I do this before i leave to Hunt. Just 1 single strip over the Muzzle, and a Wrap around the Barrel to Hold the edges. I have NEVER had it come loose

Ok so it’s used as a indicator that it’s loaded
