I'll be watching for the details. Those are stunning pieces of wood on those guns! The figure on them is just awesome!

The first is a Savage SML with a PacNor .40 barrel by RB in AR. That was out of two pieces of the same blank to get rid of some bad areas. French Red for color to blend it together.
The number 2 and 3 are of a .45 on a Savage SML. This was TG in PA's rifle. It had two voids in the stock, about nickel sized by 3/4 deep. Stablilzed the soft wood with wood stabilizer, put a cut of bolt piece 1/2 inch by 4 1/2 inches to strengthen it. Filled the void with water putty, walnut dust and stain.
Also epoxied in the stock with PC-7, too little release agent. Ended up breaking a triangular piece completely out of the action/barrel area, about 1.5 inch by 4 inches. Used TiteBond III and glued it back in. Really can't see it unless pointed out. Some stain to try to blend in everything. Wipe on poly.
The Rem is a .45 SML by Bestill. Natural color, no stain. Filled one void about the size of a pencil eraser with walnut dust and glue.

The Ruger 10/22 was out of a 5 foot diameter sycamore. The pieces were 5/4 so it is glued up. No stain. All the wood or blanks I had on hand, some for well over 5 years.
