Bestill Knight/Brux Ultra-Lite SML

I picked up a Knight Ultra-lite that was rebarreled with a Brux 1:20 by Jeff at Bestill, a few weeks ago from Lou (Ourway77). It was a beautiful gun and very lightweight. Scott (SCHUNTER) was selling it last December and even though I’d been a member for years, I didn’t have enough post to try and buy it. So, technically I am the third owner but am just as excited as if I had it built.

After receiving the gun I contacted Jeff about adding a brake and funnel (was worried about the light weight gun kicking like a mule) media blast entire action (never been a fan of polished guns) and converting it to LRMP from 209.

Received the gun back from Jeff, yesterday and unfortunately, even with his very fast service, I was unable to make it to the range before our opening day (today) but I did get my 1pc Murphy Mount, 30mm Badger rings and a Leupold VX-6HD all mounted up and I was surprised that it weighed, right at 9lbs. It’s lighter than my Encore heavy tapered 20” 357 max and way lighter than the Encore with the Brux Arrowhead barrel. I believe I’ve found my new go to rifle, she’s definitely a beaut! I can’t say enough about Jeff’s work and the very fast service that he provided me. If the USPS hadn’t lost it for two days, I would have been able to sight in and use it today.

Its a shame you are selling it already. What a sweet rifle and well worth the $2000 you are asking for it on TNdeer and Dougs board.

Why selling so soon? Only reason I sold it was I can no longer hunt

exactly why! I’ve tried over the years to like bolt guns and sunk a lot into this one, thinking it’d be different. The brake, funnel, bead blasting and switching to LRMP added another 80% in my investment.
But I thought if I didn’t end up liking it, my son would take it. He told me he didn’t want it so, I’ve put it up for sale and in the progress of having Jeff, work his magic on an Omega.
You’d think I’d learn my lesson after having a SML built on a Remington Ultimate and ended up selling 6mos later. But did the same when the Mountaineer, first came out. Bought and sold within 6mos.
I can’t explain what it is I don’t like but just never been able to get into them. I always end up buying another and then loosing money...

Very nice Omega! I’d hate to buy and butcher a nice gun when I’d only use the action. Think I seen one of Jeff’s videos where he says the barrel channel is too thin for the bull replacement barrels. I do like them stocks and had one of the Omegas with one and fluted barrel before switching to smokeless rigs.

Jeff said he had an action for me so, I’m just going to have him supply it.
