I’m by no means a Encore shooter, but I have a buddy that tried. Made sure his breech plug was cleaned. Had been shooting Pyrodex and cleaned barrel and the small ignition hole.
(Once I showed he was amazed how much carbon came out of the flash channel using the drill bit)
Still had some non-ignition now and then. Not for hunting then.
Using MMP sabot and .451 sized 250FTX. Good fit.
I’ll be modifying his breech plug for BH209.

The older style plug that looks just like the Omega plug is a very good plug for BH209. A picture of the exact plug you have would be helpful. Even just one off the internet as long as you are sure its the same plug.

This one is fine

I have 4 encore rifles with the muzzleloading barrels on the same breech plug as above shoot Blacktown all the time no problems

Thanks, I was hoping that I would be able to use the regular breech plug.

I had to reload up in the tree after shooting a coyote. With my current load and powder I had all I could do to seat the load , so I have to change my setup.

If anyone has issues with the encore/omega concave faced hex plugs then they need to do a deep cleaning of the plug as their should be no reason for non ignition if they are using the correct primers and a tight fitting projectile
