You would think???? that Hodgdon would have worked on the 'Crud Ring' causing ingredient. With the elimination of that problem and if it produces the velocity of T7 - that alone would be a huge step forward...

A key for me - that would tell a lot about the powder does it need to ignited with 209 prime or primer or can it also be ignited with a Percussion cap. If it is only primer ignited that alone could tell you a lot about the powder.
Possibly the ingredient that makes T7 smoke causes the crud ring.

I agree they really should come up woth better stuff with no crud at all . CFE is out there why not no crud for us ???

Before ya know it someone will create a round like this with a bullet already in it. Hmmmm wait a minute...LOL
Wonder if reloading manufacturers are making a sizing die for it . Again LOL.
Started out early BP.
Then the SML fever.
Back to smoking again.
My vote is for front end loading period.

I think this concept is inferior, and will not be accepted for muzzleloader season. As it is made by Traditions, it has got to be shoddy in craftsmanship.

Chick, I don’t mean to get off the issue at hand, but I certainly agree about the Traditions statement.
To me they are equivalent to a Philippine Guerrilla shotgun used in WW2.

LMAO. All these hating comments on how it's a bad design and such and no one has even used them. SMH. That being said, I do not think it would be in my wheel house because I like loose powder and being able to develop my own charges but to all the people who use Pellets, this may be a much better option. They claim it is cleaner and much more consistent than pellets.

These are views from respectable muzzle loader owners, shooters and hunters. I fail to see “hating comments”vs individual opinions.
Using a “SMH” can be derogatory and condescending.

There are tons of alternatives and all of them are cheaper. You just got to loosen the wallet for the initial investment for the SML. Shoot "those powders" for recreation and BH209 for hunting if "those powders" are not legal for hunting in your state. I meen its like $500 to get into one but 45cal only. Thats no more than the FiddleStick ML. :D

Yeah, you can bet someone will get the bright idea to reload a Fiddlestick. Might work and might not. If the NitroFire has a LW19 barrel it will be pretty tough but even SML barrels get ringed or worse when not loaded correctly.

Looks like Lehigh fiddlesticks are even brass.....:woohoo:

We dont really know though if its LW19 or not. It could be the CM steel they use for other things. The "black powder" barrels are not LW19 IIRC and its not the LW50 SS they sell. I seem to remember LW19 is a bit better than 4140. Might have been close to the steel that is milspec for M16s ect. This does not even include their OEM stuff that could be whatever the contract asked for. They sold hammer forged barrels too.

Im honestly suprised its not spanish !!! Movin up , movin on up....( like the jeffersons song on tv.....) :D

Traditions Outfitter rifles first used Wilson blanks and then went to LW with the G2s. Nice little single shot actually. They dont go into much detail other than to say its a LW barrel.

Well well she did say hammer forged barrel at the 1min mark.

I think I'm pretty open minded and accepting. While I never moved past the old plunger design inlines, still hunt with my Knights, newer technology never bothered me. I have zero issues with custom rifles or SML's. This however bothers me. I think to me the bottom line is, all the previous guns are muzzleloaders. In my mind this isn't. It's not legal in VA, propellant and projectile must load through the muzzle.

I remember when inlines became popular here, people complained about them being used during muzzleloader season. I remember thinking it didn't bother me as they were still muzzleloaders. I don't feel the same about these. Every year I here more complaints at VDGIF meetings from the gun hunters about muzzleloader season. As such, I hope these stay out of muzzleloader season. I worry as manufacturers push the limits we will eventually lose the muzzleloader season.

Am I way off base here?

My actual ML season is long gone other than managed hunts. It went away when they allowed hand rifles like a 7mm-08 Encore pistol and changed the name of the season. So i dont really care if its allowed or not in my state. My SMLs will dust it in performance anyday. In all the years ive hunted deer ive done over 90% with a ML or SML and that includes during firearms season. I needed a quick 2nd shot once in all those years.

I just dont see how it would make my season better or worse.
