I have been researching, sending texts, making phone calls to builders about doing one. Once I get a couple of projects out of the way, I gonna get the ball rolling on one.

OK, I have a 35 Whelen. I Killed an elk with it years ago. But my days of climbing hills and mountains for elk are about done. Tell me about this conversion??????????

I was going to do a CVA Hunter 45 conversion but I thought why not do a 35. I got to doing a lot of research about it. Then, this Hunter 35 conversion kinda fell in my lap. I already shoot a 357 Max pistol. I have a rifle barrel in 357 Max. Now, a 35 conversion.

The 35/358 conversion is an excellent choice if the caliber is legal in your area. I’ve had an Apex 358 for a few years & it’s extremely flat shooting, very low recoil-without a brake, & much lighter than my Rem UML 308 conversion.

Its like this. I used to go elk hunting about every 4-5 years. I have a 338 for just that reason. 25 years ago my brother passed and left me a 270. I already have a 270 and thought I would do something different with my 270. So I had it re bored to a 35 Whelen with a quicker twist so it shoots 225 grains bullets up to 300 grains. Im 64 next month and think my elk hunting years are over. What to do with the gun?????

I have hunted with 40cal 250gr fury bullets and had great performance from them don't think you'll go wrong with that choice.

I full form sized a Hornady 180 gr XTP yesterday. I had made no adjustment to the die from the previous owner. Once the rifling aligned it fell in a little ways, could still see the bullet. I took the ramrod and pushed it through with a very firm one hand. The full form die may need a little tweaking for a fouled barrel. I tried to full form a Barnes 140 XPB. I should have run it through the smooth form die first to make it easier. Lesson learned!!!!
