Ripper 415 crossbow and Spitfires did it again.

Yesterday morning I was lucky to take a nice doe. I was setting in a lockon stand about 25 feet up in a large white oak. The doe (5) came from my left passing behind me. When the large doe broke out I had just brought my Ripper 415 around to position. I gave a "naaah!" sound to stop the doe. She was about 15-20 yards but I didn't have time to get the distance. I know it was close. I instinctively put the top crosshair where I thought it needed to be and put the arrow thru her.
She ran out about 70 yards and crashed. When I got down to check for blood it was very easy to find. The arrow was covered with good blood. The blood trial was one of the best ever for me. It was consistent width of about 1 foot.
When I reached her I turn her to see were the wounds were. They were right on the line I aimed to hit the heart which I did.

Here are the results of the Spitfire pass thru:

Entry thru the back from behind shooting down at about 60- 70 degrees from horizontal.

This doe allowed me to fulfill my goal of back to back years in Arkansas getting my Triple Trophy Award from the AGFC for taking deer with three different style weapons....modern rifle, muzzleloader, and crossbow.

Now to follow up on the Triple Trophy Award from AGFC I am happy to report I received the following. Thanks to the AGFC for sponsoring the program so that I can participate. Also thanks for the fast reply for my application.

Arkansas started the program with the plan of help balance the herd which encourages taking doe. I like it because there aren't many big bucks in the land I hunt so I like taking doe instead of waiting for bucks which can be frustrating. It is odd that only a hand full of sportsman get the Triple Trophy Award. I am proach to be one. Next season I will try for three years running success.

In comparison Arkansas deer and Turkey check in are all done online unless the sportsmen take game on a AGFC wildlife sweet sixteen hunting management zones. Then they are checked manually.

The only check station I've ever been to was a self check where you leave the heads for CWD testing. They didn't send a patch for the head, just a call saying it tested negative.
Good move to have it checked . Fella i worked for , his buddies wife DIED from CWD !!!!!!! I Refuse to hunt those areas now .

If a CWD zone deer is harvested in Arkansas then it must be submitted for test. Fortunately I hunt out side of those zones.
