Went to local wal mart and they had 209 marked down to 19.00 so bought the last 2 they had, also scored some Pyrodex RS for 11.00 Im going to use in a old sidelock with musket caps.
They had 3 more of the Pyrodex left may go back and snag them also.
they had Traditions muzzleloaders marked down from 196.00 to 99.00 but didnt have a need for one and you cant hardly give a muzzleloader away around here anymore since rifles are legal.

Ive killed a lot of deer with Pyrodex, only thing I never liked about it is how really dirty it is but for 11.00 I will use it in my old CVA sidelock.. its usually pretty accurate also.

Is Pyrodex RS as dirty as Triple 7, or those White Hot pellets that I still have a few of? I have not used Pyrodex, but would be wiling to try it if it's cheap enough.

Its a lot dirtier then 777 but has the benefit of not freezing up breech plugs usually if shooting a lot(also not as bad of crud ring) and you forget to back off your breech plug.
I shot 777 the other day out of my .45 Black Diamond about 20 shots and forgot to break plug loose after 8-10 shots, even with teflon tape and permatex anti-seize grease it still froze up.. had to take out in barn and put in vice to break loose.
But I like 777 for its easy clean up.

If the price of Pyrodex ends up a low as what you found at Wallyworld, I'll probably pick up a bottle or two. Last time I was there 777 was all gone.

just make sure if you shoot pyrodex to clean your gun extra good as its not as forgiving as 777 when it comes to cleaning, have to be very meticulous when cleaning it.But if cleaned right its no worse then black powder or anything else, but if left sitting very long after shooting it draws moisture like crazy same as black powder.

Yep, will do. Just like after shooting the White Hot pellets. Clean up as soon as possible after use, and thoroughly.

You all are lucky to still have any powder left. My two Walmart stores sold out by end of November. There were a few supplies left, mostly traditions..... I'm stocked up mostly anyway.

209 is still 30.00 here at the wallyworlds, hopefully in the next week or so it will hit the 20mark and I can go do my yearly roundup.

Good Score Dean :lewis: Our Walmart Don’t carry ANYTHING Blackpowder, I wish it did.

BH209 is 50./ 10oz here in MD that is why I drive to PA and buy Goex and Swiss

One Canadian dollar = 75 cents US.

The local price for BH here is $43. Such a ripoff. I wish there was an equal choice to give them some competition.

I paid 30 for BH209 here about 2 weeks ago. At that time there was 3 more available but they are gone. There are plenty of 240gr XTP bullet/sabots in 30 per package at $11 ea.
