I think this country should have mandatory residency in a top tier state between North Dakota and Michigan for ten years before anyone can be called a citizen. Everybody. Hearing of 60's and 70's sucks. Ya'll should have to man up and do as we do each year.

I spent one winter in Alaska. That place will make a person appreciate Michigan weather. -40°f for more than a month is not uncommon.

I am with you MrTom. I remember last year on Jan. 29th it was -40 F* that morning at my place. Nothing builds character more than living in a place with those temps. A lot of folks need a bit of character building, especially those that live in more temperate climates of the country. :p

Back in the 70's I worked at a dairy in the ice cream hardening room a large freezer storage. The temp was around -30f most of the time and we stayed in the freezer for about 2hrs. at a time with 15 min. break and 1/2 hr lunch. As long as you were moving/busy working it was tolerable. I don't like hot weather and prefer 50-60 temps. We have had a very mild winter here in Ohio this season but that is not always the case. Still not -40 though and do not envy you who endure it year after year.

We are escaping the dreary pacific NW rain in April for a road trip around southern Utah. I can't wait for the first visit to Bryce canyon, Zion, Moab, Capitol Reef and the big hole -Grand Canyon.

That’s my stomping ground. I live 10 minutes out of St. George. Largest city in the south half of the state. 30 minutes from Zion. You should drive through it on your trip out here.
Might want to check out Tuacahn while you’re in the area. Outdoor amphitheater with broadway style shows. 5 min from my house. It’s worth it. They do a great job.

-35 below windchill here right now.
Cold and windy here and its going to get a lot colder with that stuff you have crossing the Lk MI and heading our way.
However, I couldn't have came at a better time. I have a loaded rifle outside letting it set until sometime tomorrow. Making sure things go BOOM in the negative digits.

Cold here too, +25 . We got 3” snow last evening bringing our winter total up to 11”. Think we will move further south. “ poke”.

Haha. Our 5 day. We usually get our snow in March and April if we get any at all. Stays around for about 4-5 hours
