I Got it done, and ready to Roll out on it’s Maiden Voyage :lewis: This was a Special Build/Project to me. The Barrel is a 15/16” Stainless Green Mountain LRH .45 Cal, 1:30 Twist. I got This Barrel from Chet (1874Sharpsshooter), he had Got it from Dave Anderson (Cayugad) in 2016-17, Ironically i Bought Dave’s GM LRH Stainless 50 Cal Barrel in that Same Time period, I ended up Selling it to another Forum member here (shguns) Anyway, Being a .45 Cal Guy, This is my Dave Anderson/Cayugad “Keeper”

I have been looking for a REALLY Nice Stock since i got this Barrel, I have found Several, But they were nothing Special, I really wanted something Nice for this Project, Something that STOOD OUT from the Rest. A Rifle that I have wanted from my Beginning in Muzzleloading, one I can be found talking about LONG ago as a “Dream Build” was a TC Hawken “Cougar” Or a “Silver Elite” Stock, This was Due to it’s Stainless Furniture, I Also wanted a Stainless Green Mountain LRH Barrel to Rest in it. The Hawken “Cougars”, And “Silver Elite’s” are not Real easy to Come by, and they Bring a PREMIUM When you do See them, Usually about 1,000-1,500, But i wasn’t interested in the Factory Barrel, I ONLY wanted the Stock. Anyway, I spotted this TC “Silver Elite” Stock ONLY Recently on Ebay, I made the Guy an offer and Ended up with it :lewis:

I spent most of the Day Today Tinkering with this thing, Properly Fitting the Barrel, Installing a Lyman 57SML tang Peep, and Lyman 17AHB Globe Front Sight.

Pictures DON’T do this Rifle Justice, The Wood is BEAUTIFUL, But doesn’t show much in the Pics. Stainless Sure looks Neat! I have always loved the looks of Stainless.

The Crescent Butt Plates on the TC Hawken’s Don’t bother me a Bit, I have never had a problem With them. On the other Hand, My Lyman Plains Crescent Butt Plate was DANGEROUS

Beauty, to bad they don't make the sights in stainless. I too always liked the looks of stainless and like the tc cougar and elite, just my pockets aren't deep enough. I'll be watching for some range time videos of your new project.

Hey Lou, do a photo shoot outside, the natural light will allow the wood grain to pop. Post several pics, we won’t think your bragging, although I would be if it was mine.:lewis:

Beautiful! I've thought about the same thing but the only stainless GM lrh barrels I have seen for sale are $$$$, and the cougar stocks are just as much.

Good on you for getting it done!

I hear people say that all the the time.."thats a wall hanger, I wouldnt shoot it" I say, sorry no, if I wanted it on a wall, I wouldve bought just a picture... very nice gun you have there, good job brother!!!!

It got it Dirty today!! ;) There were Snowmobiles out at my Spot this Morning, it was a BUSY Place. This morning was to get a Feel for it, and Adjust Sights to get “Close” to Center. I got that accomplished :lewis: Now i can start Shooting Groups, and Figuring the Gun out? I did shoot a Paper Patch Group, It was my 428 Grain Cupped Base Bullets, it Shot a True 1” Group, This Bullet is pushing the Limit of the 1:30 Twist. After the Paper Patch Group i moved to my 385 Grain Grease Groove Bullets to make Sight adjustments, and get better Sighted in. I shot a Total of 7 Shots.

It’s funny how accustomed we become to things, this is the 1st, and ONLY 15/16” Barrel i have ever Owned, or Even Shot for that matter (I know there’s not much difference in 15/16” VS 1” But FACT is, THERE IS!!) ALL of my Sidelocks are 1” Barrels, This 15/16” Barrel DEFINITELY Kicks me Harder! My 1” Barrels are a little Softer Shooting, Not a Big Deal, But it’s DEFINITELY Noticeable to me

Thank you for the Compliments everyone! Looks Wise, This is definitely one of my Prizes :lewis: I Have wanted to Build 1 of these for a LONG Time. This Rifle has some BIG Shoes to fill if it’s to Keep up with my 1:20 Twist Rice, My bet is that it NEVER will shoot to that level, And I really don’t expect it to. I am thinking the Lyman Gould Should be 1 of my Best Options in this New Rifle, Bullet Length to Weight for this 1:30 Twist, The Lyman Gould is Gonna be DARN TOUGH to Beat!
