One hell-of-a pretty firearm. I got to say if it was mine i would stash it away for rainy days. LOL. Save the blue guns for sunshine.
:woohoo::bravo::woohoo:

Mr Lewis
Watched your video on shooting it and it really liked the gouled bullets so why do you think it didn't like your bullet? To hard of lead ? To long of bullet? Sized different? I would have thought it would have shot yours alot better than it did.

It TOTALLY fooled me as well! I casted some of my bullets Up Yesterday Evening of PURE Lead, I am gonna run back out and Do that Exact same Shoot/Test with them, The ONLY difference will be the Bullet Being Soft, PURE Lead. It will be interesting to see what ends up happening? I know this is a DARN Good Bullet, it Shoots STELLAR in my 1:20 Twist Rice, I can’t imagine it not shooting well in this 1:30 Twist?

Bullet Sizing could have played a Role? I got some more Tinkering to do, I will get it figured out! This is part of the Fun! :lewis:

Ed’s getting a little “Cocky” Huh?

I’ll go ahead and Lift him up here

Regarding that Lyman 330gr HP Gould mold. I have to thank Doc White for turning me on to it. I read his book and he mentioned he was trying to mass-produce an HP bullet. In questioning him, he said it was that Lyman 330gr HP bullet and he thought it was a fantastic bullet for deer and other game. So I bought it and the rest is history. I love that bullet and so do my 4 Grandsons. This year my one grandson who never shot a deer before, finally scored but his shot was not on target. Still, the doe ran about 100 yds before expiring. That bullet seems to like anywhere from 60-75gr of either 777-3F or Swiss 3F. I have to experiment more with a 70gr load of Swiss 2F with my 451 White M98.

Lew, knows me all too well and knows I was having a little fun with him. As far as casting and shooting he's light years ahead of me and probably most of us. Oh and hot creamy soup sounds good especially on cold winter days! :D
Lol !!! Ed i saw all that fun and couldnt help myself -- just had to join in and cut-up with my buddies !!! Cut-Up ??? Now im headed back to the kitchen again , Its a viscious cycle im tellin ya!!!:p

That has got to be the best looking TC Hawken I have ever seen.:lewis::lewis:

Thank you HJ, It’s been something i have wanted to do for a LONG Time now, And I finally made it happen :lewis: The “Silver Elite” and “Cougar” Stocks are usually Expensive when you find them, Mine was no exception, But it’s off my “Want List” Now :) The TC “Silver Elite” and “Cougar” Models USUALLY have Exceptionally Nice, Figured Wood, But not always, I have seen a Few that were kinda Plain. I have always thought the nice Grade Wood, and Stainless Furniture looked Nice

Check out some of these TC Hawken “Cougars” The difference in these and my “Silver Elite” is the “Cougar” has a Silver Coin Looking Medallion in the Stock, and they came with a Blued Barrel. The “Silver Elite” Does NOT have a Medallion, and they Came with Stainless Barrels

I hunt with a guy who's 10-12 years older than me who started ML'er hunting in the '70's with a T/C Hawken .50 cal. The stock broke somehow so he sent it to T/C for warranty back in the late '80's. It came back with a chunk of wood like Lewis' rifle. The first year I hunted with him was '97 and when he pulled that thing out my mouth fell open. What was worse is he beats the heck out of it doing deer drives. Lol

When I was 20 I ordered a Browning Auto 5 in 20 gauge from my LGS.

I ordered it with the tan vinyl case that had room for extra barrels, because I was planning on a iron-sighted rifled slug barrel as soon as I could afford it.

I was paying for it on lay-a-way, and when it showed up it had buttstock wood just as pretty as Lewis's Silver Elite. Got scratched the first time I hunted with it, and I never worried about it afterwards.

That was in 1974. That's one of the ones I REALLY wish I had not sold.

This is one INCRED-A-BIB-A-LY BOOT-EEE-FULL GUN Lewis!!!

This new “Silver Elite” With Stainless GM LRH .45 Cal Barrel has earned itself a PERMANENT Place in my Gun Safe! It is DEFINITELY a Keeper :lewis: It has proven itself with 2 Different Grease Groove Bullets now (Cast of PURE Lead) A gun HAS to prove itself to Stay in my Safe, NO EXCEPTIONS to that Rule!! I need to play around with some Paper Patch in it for Fun, I am confident i will find a PP Load or 2 that will Shoot? So far EVERY Rifle i own will Shoot either or, I have PROVEN loads of Both Bullet types for Each of my Rifles

I know of 1 other Person that Put 1 of these Stainless Hardware Stocks Together very similar to mine, Forum member Saxtonyoung, I haven’t seen him on here in LONG time now? He used a TC Hawken “Cougar” (the one with the Medallion)

Here we go, I just dug it up. His Butt Stock was Cut to remove the Crescent Butt Plate, and has a Shotgun Recoil Pad installed (Very similar to Idahoron’s) I believe Harleysboss, and Wilfish4fud have Regular Brass Hardware TC Hawken Stocks Like Idahoron’s and they Cut the Crescent Butt Plate Off Their’s as well and added a Recoil Pad, I believe Idahoron is the 1st one to make this Alteration to the Hawken Stock? I know a few people have followed Ron’s “Hotrod Hawken” Rifle

The Crescent Butt Plate of the TC Hawken has NEVER Bothered me the Slightest Bit, It’s so Gentle in “Sweep” that I don’t mind it at all, And i shoot a STEADY diet of Hard Recoiling loads (Personal preference thing) That said, I Fully understand the Guy’s that DON’T like them! This is ALL about Fit, and being Comfortable with the Rifle, if something isn’t comfortable to you? You likely won’t shoot it well? The Crescent Butt Plate on My Lyman Great Plains was HORRIBLE, in Fact it was down Right Dangerous!! I had to fix it

Here is Forum Member Saxtonyoung’s Rifle, I hope to see him on here again! I have his Email, i will Send him one and Check on him
