Dems sum purty boolats. I be liken dem fo twelbs tu. :p

Nice metplat without jumping all the way upto the 460s.

Now all it be needen is a hollar point in it.

That is basically the bullet i wanted to try from Bullshop. He has a old mold for a 405ish gr hollow point. Its so old i cant find any good pics of it.
45 Caliber ~ Lee Moulds ~ .457 ~ 405 grains ~ HP

I have not personally seen a LEE Hollow Point Mold? But i have read about them

Ive always loved the sound a wide metplat makes when in connects....THUWACK!!!! I used to not like HPs for soft lead at all but for deer i now think its a option. Anything larger than deer.....just stick to a wide metplat. There is now need for it to expand faster.

I bet a HP version of that bullet would be insane.

You guy’s are killing me here! :bang: I just sent Erik Ohlen an Email about Hollow Pointing my Mold with his “inset bar” setup :D But ONLY if he can do it, and stil allow me to Cast them Solid as well. Depending on his Response? My mold might be headed to Oregon for Awhile :)

This is what i would Want done, NO Pin to deal with. I would probably go with a little Deeper Hollow Point Than this? Erik should know what will Work best? This is a Buffalo Arms Mold that he did

With the renewed interest in 45s its just about perfect IMO. Dont need to shoot no wiz bang $2.50 per shot loads. A bullet like that will kill nearly anything with hooves without killing you shooting it. The HP will just help a bit as it slows down for longer shots. That bullet should shoot in dem new imported fo tee fibes just fine and they dont need some sissy skirt to do it. :p

I would even buy 50 or 100 of dem boolats because im so sure its more than likely a winner.

You will get a Batch of these FOR SURE if i get the Mold Done :lewis: I’m just waiting on his email Back to me :)

Whatever Mr Hollar Point recommends is probably a sure bet. The lower mold half in that pic looks ok to me unless you just wanted to reduce the weight some more. If i went deeper i would maybe go smaller diameter....That is just my WAG.
