Since western powder was bought out by Hodgdon what are your thoughts about it future? I’m guessing it pretty well know BH209 is actually a smokeless powder technically and years ago I remember reading an article as to why hodgdon would not make a comparable product and it was due to liability issues they were worried about....so I guess I’m wondering if they will continue to make it or let it die. I’m not super worried since I shot t7 a lot more due to availability reason and the fact that BH209 is only a 100-150 FPS gain for me. But I do like to shoot bh209 in a muzzle loader match that allow use locally- that extra oof really help with lobbing those 525 Creedmoors into the plates beyond 500yrds.

just starting a discussion on this And would like to hear other people opinions- I think it’s too much of a cash cow to give up but that old article worries me somewhat.

It will be a "Cash Cow" for them. I believe it will continue to be produced. Price increase??? We will see. I have plenty but will probably go to Walmart and buy more at $36.99 a jug!
I’ve looked for it as of late and anywhere cheaper then 50 buck shipped for each jug is out of stock and nowhere local has it. I remember still buying it for 32.99 shipped off Midsouth haha

Only place that has it on the shelves around here is Cabelas and it’s $50!!!

I really don’t understand why our Walmart doesn’t carry the stuff
I live in a part of Fl that apparently there isn't much muzzleloading nor market for much at all here. Though, the local Walmart had about a hand full ( IDK exactly ) 5-6 at most, I saw one time. Thats it, haven't seen any again since, Then the closest Bass Pro shop is Gainesville Fl. they raised their prices from 35-36.00 per 10oz bottle to 46.99 per. I did not buy any. I'd hate to think of whats being charged now in some places. 50.00 per 10oz bottle is robbery. 35.00 per was high enough. I just checked Powder Valley & MidSouth Shooters ( the 2 cheapest online places for 5lb bottles that I'm aware of, they're both sold out with NO backorders. Holy freakin cow! What now?

Well sh*t... I asked my local Walmart manger about this and he pulled 5lbs in for me. It’ll be here tomorrow morning.

Yeah it’s crazy- I found a shop that has a 5lber out west but want 449.99 plus shipping haha wrongo.. It seems to have dried up during the bankruptcy process. Maybe it’ll be back in full swing soon. Who knows.
They've lost their greedy freakin minds there. 450.00 for 5lbs BH 209 plus HM & S fees. I'm seein all powder prices increase substancially this yr like never before.
