I just talked with Knight on their Facebook page and found them to still be very “pissy’’ In their attitude. I told them I was considering buying a CVA Paramount or Paramount Pro and I askEd them if there new Peregrine was a reason to wait.
The first thing I got was the same old response that their gun is American followed up with CVA is just throw away junk. As I explained to them that I was not new to shooting and I have been shooting Knight Rifles and CVA Rifles for years they also told me that I was not a serious shooter. I was tagged with that label by them because “no serious shooter “even considers shooting a CVA in the competitions that Knight has won for decades. I’m not Buying a Paramount but I was hoping that maybe I could draw out a few comparisons

I thought that you lower class people that don’t shoot the same competition as the Knight shooters do and you CVA owners might want to know what Knight thinks of you

ME,
I’m just about to order a CVA Paramount or Paramount Pro. Is there a reason or reasons I should wait until the Peregrine comes out to make my decision?

KNIGHT.
If you do your homework you'll see that Knight and CVA aren't even remotely close to the same. One is a 100% American made rifle and the other an import throw away.

ME,
Thank you for your response. I’ve shot Knight Rifles and CVA for years I’ve had just as good of luck with CVA as I have had with Knight.....Regardless of where they were built. I’m not going to go into custom modifications I’ve had to have made because that’s another story and has nothing to do with my original question

I know you can’t release specific information on the peregrine yet or at least I assume so. I would like to know at least a little bit about the Peregrine

Rumors are already beginning to circle. I have heard that it’s going to be 40 caliber which I hope it’s true. It’s my favorite caliber and I’ve already worn out one smokeless 40 caliber. I do a lot of shooting with a lot of guns including custom guns so any tidbit you can give me other than it’s made in America would be helpful

KNIGHT,
I'm sorry you lost me at "I've shot CVA for years".
No serious shooter anywhere shoots CVA. Why, because they're not accurate. This can be evidenced by the accolades of our shooters in every major muzzleloading competition over the last three decades and CVA's lack of the same.
Updates on the new Peregrine rifle will be made available in preparation for it's launch mid 2021.

ME,
Thank you for your response. I think that you have helped me make up my mind. Since I do not compete in the same competitions that you do I am not a serious shooter. That speaks volumes to me

KNIGHT,
After my last response they closed with a thumbs up. Unfortunately I was not able to copy and paste that thumb here.

I have never experienced the arrogance or the uncaring attitude that I just did. However, Knight Rifles did accomplish one thing. They’ve definitely convinced me to never buy anything from them again.

BTW....my throw away inaccurate CVA Apex put this guy down on Nov 27th. Pretty good for an inaccurate throw away gun I think.

Wow, I don’t like that attitude one bit, i have many Knight Rifles and like them all. they need to make an adjustment real soon. I wouldn’t condemn the whole company for one person though, lets see if you get an apology from management, because everyone i have spoken to on the phone, has been respectful and very helpful

Unfortunately it’s not my first experience with Knight behaving this way. There are a few good people that work at the company but I don’t know what’s wrong with the others. People have been asking for a change internally for a long time and it has never happened at least not for the better. I’ve been shooting Knight Rifles since the first MK 85 was available in our area. MK 85, MK 95, LK’s, disc extremes, and Mountaineers. The company isn’t run anything like it was by Tony Knight back when I bought my first MK 85.
By the way don’t hold your breath on an apology. I’m not.

My original disc was slightly outshot by a brand new CVA Accura. He also just zeroed his gun, shooting a 4 inch longer barrel and the wind kicked up blowing from left to right when i shot. CVA is good, Bergara barrels are almost as good as the green mountains. If going .45, go knight all the way. Faster twist and more accurate. The paramount breach’m not a fan of the variflame. I’d stick with a 209 FPJ to NFPJ conversion or wait and see if this peregrine has an LRMP ignition system. It’s going to be the fastest muzzleloader on the market and win a few shooting competitions.

Justin Perry is a good good. Jamie Hendricks is good as well. They’re passionate shooters and outdoorsman. When I had my bolt assembly jammed, I sent it out to them, and they fixed it for free and sent me a c-tool in return. I wish they still provided their LiFe Nitriding with Parker Trutec. You have to set up an account with Parker and have knight ship you the gun how they use to ship it out to them. Then you have to ship it to Parker’s Tennessee plant. Cerakote is only good for exterior, which is what they’ll be offering next year, supposedly.

Oh boy, I recognize that range, live down the street, shoot there all the time. i shoot off my deck now, finally set up a backstop

GregK- sorry to hear.
That does not sound like any of the Knight employees or guys I know. Makes me wonder who’s doing their social media?

Agreed! I bet the owners would love to see that conversation. No excuse for those comments.

Sales 101 never ever bash what the customer currently owns. I sold ATV's and snowmobiles for a few years and would just sit and laugh to myself at a couple of the other salesmen who would just rip on what the customers currently drove and then they would sit and wonder why they never made any sales.

I had a very similar experience about 5 years ago with knight rifles I didn't converse with them by email but after a phone call I didn't want the rifle if they gave it to me free .I guess others would laugh at this but I've never even considered a knight rifle since then just because of the spirit of that phone call

Had great conversations with Gordy while he was at Knight. After he left....Not so much. They come off like some of us are almost clueless even though there are tons of us that have been shooting Knights long before PI Inc bought them. I made 1 post on Knights FB page awhile back and they deleted it. I almost never use FB except to stay in touch with 2 friends. Kinda ticked me off Knight deleted a polite post. Never posted there again.

one tweak of a breach plug and two lugs to fasten barrel and be hard to beat hands down, too bad

Always wanted to see two action screws and a smaller firing pin. Im still betting they did a plug upgrade and maybe LRMP modules so they can offer a "super mag" load like the Paramount.
If they offer LRMP in the ultra-lite and Mountaineer and get their contract back with Parker for Nitriding, they’re in good shape to be the top dawg in the world of muzzleloading
