loading for black powder and smokeless is two different ball games
Oh, absolutely agreed 👍 Hence the lobby for a BPCR Sub. I'm already fantasizing about an 1874 Sharps Long Range Express from Shiloh.

Had a decent load (45-90) load at 100 yards last time out shot it again today with 20 rounds of same loads I shot 5 rounds on paper and 15 on a ram silhouette at 200 meters shot much better on steel my sight picture much easier on steel than paper target I'll figure out my different sight inserts as I go. this was my 3rd shooting session with the new rifle not including 20 round barrel break in. Being consistent is the toughest part of paper patch loading but I think I'm already getting the hang of it!

That is NICE!! :lewis:
Thanks Idaho took about a year or so to build but worth the wait getting her dialed in every time out to the range but I have to say pp is a lot more work than I have time for but I hope to have a load good enough for the matches that will cut down some time there and I just picked up a p Jones gg mold from one of our shooters I'm going to test some of them in my rifle it may like the gg bullets much better and it sure is a lot easier loading gg !

Working up for PP does take a substantial amount more of time than GG, to do it right anyway, LOTS of Variables, From the Bullet Diameter to the Type of Paper used. I have several different Papers, all reasonably close in thickness, But each one gives Totally different results, From Good to HORRIBLE. My favorite paper so far is Strathmore Series 300 Tracing paper, it has been the best all Around paper in my Testing. A good friend of mine here with an Old Hepburn would like to Try PP, and i have offered to help him, He told me “I don’t have time to try and Figure out PP, i have way to much going on, From Work to Life in General” Anyway, i’ve offered to help him, We are gonna start working with it this Spring. Grease Groove is EASY compared to Paper Patch. Both can be EQUALLY AWESOME when you have everything right, it’s just MUCH easier with GG

I'm using 10lb onion paper two wraps fits my bore perfectly don't forget having a retired army colonel who's very detailed oriented helps me a great deal he's been shooting for many years and at one time had up to 30 sharps rifles of every configuration so he has saved me soooooooo much time trial and error I can't even imagine plus all of our shooting buddies make something related to shooting and loading so I'm very fortunate I also have been casting for many years so that has helped as well!

I shot my first bpcr match on Sunday and came in 2nd place 9 guys shot I scored a 21 I should have done better but got a chunk of fouling in my chamber and it cost me 5 shots on the chickens "lesson learned" chamber brush is a must on the shooting line and I'm definitely brushing between relays !!!

Beautiful Rifle! I doubt I could ever convince my bride that the expenditure would be justified for a rifle of that level. I'm a bottom feeder for a reason LOL..Mossie

I can assure you my wife is not pleased with the money I spend on all of my shooting activities!
