Thats interesting. If I don't shoot a Knight, I'm not a serious shooter. Well, I guess if you're not a serious shooter, don't buy a Knight. There are other choices.
If I was Knight management I'd be looking for a new PR person to handle my Facebook page.
Many of you old timers remember the original IBM. I remember my dad asking them to bring a specific machine to the office so we could "try it out". The salesaman brought the machine and set it on the counter. His next question was "do you want to buy it or not"? My father, a much kinder man than I, politely showed him to the door. I should have bought short on that stock that day. You all know where the stock went. In the toilet.

Eventually the folks in the manufacturing portion will pick up the attitude and the quality will diminish.

I believe it'll be seen in this post.

I know it will. There’s a deep connection through a couple of staffers on this forum. However if I get a response at all it will be after they’ve had time to dissect it & spin it unfortunately.
I managed a business and owned a business for years & the comments on here are 100% right. First you always treat a customer better than you would expect to be treated .
You don’t bash what somebody else is using. You find a creative way to show them what they might like more about your product and then leave the choice up to them. I always started the conversation by asking the customer questions about their needs and what they were looking to accomplish and at the end I always followed up by telling them never to hesitate to ask me any questions that they might have.

I’m not perfect and I definitely make mistakes but when you have somebody that’s basically the front line of their company on social media with this kind of dismissive attitude it sours things very quickly

Had great conversations with Gordy while he was at Knight. After he left....Not so much. They come off like some of us are almost clueless even though there are tons of us that have been shooting Knights long before PI Inc bought them. I made 1 post on Knights FB page awhile back and they deleted it. I almost never use FB except to stay in touch with 2 friends. Kinda ticked me off Knight deleted a polite post. Never posted there again.

Gordy was absolutely top-notch but as they progressed with the company through new owners even he got his hands tied at one point. I think that started his frustrations and was a big part of the reason that he left the company

Just this last few weeks I took my deer to a new butcher. My wife had brought home jerky samples from one of the guys at work. They were excellent. When I went to pick up my deer he was as rude as Ive been treated in a long time. I told him I needed to go to my truck and get my money and just drove off. He called a few minutes later and asked me where I was.

Im trying to be a better person so I just told him I lost interest.

Please and thank you goes a long ways.

That’s funny you mention that. My dad sold that stock to buy a truck years ago before it got flushed down. Smart by him!

hopefully the quality won’t end up a reflection of their social media workers, they do build a fantastic gun, but hubris can turn people off.i have a cva accura mr that I purchased because of the super deal i got , just ordered the black horn plug yesterday, so I will be shooting it first time soon, I will bet it shoots great.cva seems to be a decent gun for the money. if it was the only gun i had and they trashed me for buying it, I would not buy their gun . they are basically calling you stupid, not good

I'm shooting my third CVA Acura MR now it shoots a half inch ,,for the trigger and for the consistency I couldn't be more happy,,I'm aware of CVa problem years ago I guess with several of the rifles I have noticed this CVA seems to be improving more and more and coming out with innovative platforms such as the Paramount, did I read a few posts a go that knight just assembles rifles and has parts made elsewhere? Seems like that's what ended up ruining the Remington 700 over the years,,I guess when you get so successful that you can have all the parts for your weapons built in other countries and shipped here for assembly that's not necessarily bad in itself,I suppose it ends up an integrity of management issue doesn't it as always,, I get interested in the knight ultralight and I take a hard look at all of their bolt actions but when I do I start looking at what I can do with a Remington 700 or a mini howa or even one of the many custom bolt action 700 type actions I feel much more secure if I'm going to build a rifle that cost over seven or $800 and just doing a barrel nut semi custom build and do it myself,,, for the money I just do not think that CvA Acura MR can be beat,, I'm sure somewhere in my continued learning process I'll end up buying a knight rifle and shooting it,, I have to admit that 40 is interesting still open to buying a knight rifle but I don't think I'm going to call the main office and order one that way I don't get all bowed up about somebody being a jerk on the phone once I go through that I don't need any more of that,,,Sent from deep South East Texas in a creek bottom in thick fog graciously holding my MR CVA accurra.

I love my cva accura and knight discs. I am torn between getting a mountaineer and building a rem700 smokeless. Now throw this
40 in the mix and idk what I'll do. Ive never had to talk to anyone at knight except thru email to convert my original disc to the extreme bolt. CVA customer service reps were always very polite and helpfull. A rude cs would get some in return from me. And i would light him up on social media as well as try to get his name to the higher ups at knight.

Me too makes an excellent black horn rifle also,, 95% of a muzzleloader shooting accurately is a quality barrel when you do the 700 build you have a lot more control of that,, I'd much rather have a Krieger, Brux,Rock Creek etc,

i have to say that everyone i have spoken to on the phone at knight have been 100% courteous and helpful
. I tend to believe that guy who was rude is a fluke, hopefully, anyway everyone have a merry Christmas

the couple times Ive talked to anyone they have always been nice, girl even went to shipping area to get my gun back because I wanted to change order before it shipped out. No complaints other then some of there shipping charges and they even adjusted those one time when I ask about the charge.

I had a 308 smokeless built on a Remington UML chassis last year. Jeff at Bestill did it for me and it’s an amazing gun although I’ve never fired it or even loaded it. But that’s another whole story.
3250FT/S with a 150 grain Berger bullet is smokin!! That’s what Jeff tested it at.
This barrel came from a specialty shop and according to Jeff it’s one of the highest quality barrels you can find but the guy only makes limited calibers last I knew. I believe the spec sheet shows from 0 to 300 yards is a 2.7 inch drop!!

Justin Perry usually takes care of the emails. CVA doesn’t build a bad gun for the money...but heavy and long. Not for me hunting when strapped to my back or backpack. Hitting branches, maneuverability in thicket.

Now Traditions makes a lighter gun. Sadly, they’re firearms have subpar performance

CVA just came out with the Paramount Huntr in .40 caliber. Again long, and heavy, the Mountaineer is still lighter.

It’ll be interesting to see this Peregrine. Will it use an ignition system like the varriflame?

Here is my guess and the reason is.........Watch one of Bestills plug videos.

Rear sealing plug
Smaller firing pin
LRMP module based on the 223 case head or a proprietary size. Maybe FPJ sized like he made years ago.
40cal 1-16....I know at least one of them has been made for Doug. Bestill also has a custom 40 fast twist.
Hopefully 2 action screws in a Keystone type bedding block.

Doug took a break from the forums not long after mentioning his 40cal shooting BH209. So this is all speculation but it fits the narrative. Its the natural progression if you want a high BC bullet without the need for a large bullet weight increase. You can make a pretty high BC 40cal that weighs 300gr or even 275gr. You can get into the 2300fps range with typical BH209 loads. That is not gunna happen in a 45 without "super mag" loads.

Something has to give though and that something is the need for a better ignition system to handle the high pressures. A FPJ type module made of a brass alloy would even greatly improve what a 209 can handle if the plug was designed correctly.

None of my sources have confirmed or denied these guesses. :p
