Anybody use actual muzzleloader primers with BH209 and had issues? Specifically Fusion 209 In-Line Muzzleoader primers.
Do you think these primers versus a 209 shotgun primer affect accuracy much?
Sighted in yesterday and gun is shooting very well, but I realized I was using the Fusion...
300 xtp mags.....100 gr BH209.
I'm getting pass thrus but not real good blood trails.....normally behind the shoulder....maybe I need to aim directly at the shoulder???
Thoughts?
My old plug works fine. When I put the new plug in and turn it clockwise to lock it in, it does not turn far enough for the extractor cut out to be straight down at the bottom. The top of the BP is basically at 11 o'clock as opposed straight up and down.
That's the problem, I cannot twist the plug in far enough to get the extractor portion straight up and down. If straight up is 12 o'clock, this plug stops about 11 o'clock.
I have an older Prohunter, the one with the nut on top of the breech plug, not the knurled end. Needs a socket type tool to instal.
I decided to replace the breech plug after several years of shooting.
The new breech plug twists in but does not tighten far enough in order for primer to drop...
Thanks guys. It is a TC PH I am shooting. 250 gr XTP's. Gonna start with 85 gr BH and shoot, then 2 pellets of T7 and see where it goes. Will change primers though.
Does anyone have a load of BH that is equal in accuracy to two 777 pellets, with the same bullet??
Meaning, being able to switch back and forth between the BH and 777 using the same bullet and having the same point of impact. (different primer probably)
Or is this not really doable??
I am playing around with 300 gr XTPs with the black CR sabot. I just picked up a box of the 300 gr XTP mags.
Is the black CR sabot good for the mag bullets too???
What exactly is the difference between the mags and the regular XTPs. And are they likely to shoot differently??
As well, what...
I do not have access to a chrony.
Looking for some approximate numbers for my loads.
- 100 grains T7 (2 pellets) and a 250 grain SST.
- same load with a 300 grain XTP.
Above loads use Rem ML primers.
- 90 grains BH209 with a 300 grain XTP.
BH load uses CCI 209 primer.
The T7 loads are...
First of all, does BH209 shrink in size (volume) after awhile??
I had a bunch of 90 grain charges measured out last year and they seem to be about 85 grains now.
As well any thoughts on this load.
90 or so grains of BH 209
300 grain 45 cal XTP bullet
Harvester Crush Rib Black High...
Sorry for all the questions, but I am hooked on these ML's and trying to figure out where to go next.
I am in Canada, so finding a variety of bullets, sabots, etc can be tough. And expensive.
Anyone have any reviews on PR Extreme Elites. 330 grains.
Any body not like them???
I have been shooting the 250 and 300 grs with the easy glide sabots that are included. Seem to work ok for me. Anyone had any or know of any issues?
