What kind of performance can I expect from a 1:48 twist barrel using sabots? Looking to make a 200 yard sidelock.

It wouldn't have to be a 54. My Hawken has a Green Mountain drop-in in it anyway. 1:66 roundball twist. I was thinking of a 36 or 40 & shooting some of the jacketed bullets.

I've decided on an Omega. You guys have a better idea than I do as to what bullet should perform the best and which is better pellets or loose powder?

I guess I got lucky. I bought a stainless version at Wal- Mart and it shoots dime size groups at 50 yds. I haven't put my scope on at 100 yds but I can hold high and cove 5 with a baseball. The only thing I did was put a lighter trigger in it.

Is stainless easier to keep clean than a blued barrel?
