#11 Nipples - Hollow base VS Flat Base

More fire 🔥 with the hollow base for sure. I switched to ToP Hat caps (musket) on several of mine for that same effect/reason. More fire 🔥 better ignition. At least so I think anyways. Thanks for the video 👍🏼

My T/C With Hawken With Rice Barrel

If I could get it up here in Canada, I would use Laurel Mountain Forge browning solution. With the results I’ve seen in other bp builders work it looks pretty dang good IMO. However, since I can’t get it -due to hazmat fees etc- I use Birchwood Casey Plum brown as already mentioned. Whichever...

    Moose Milk

I was told to avoid the stuff with ammonia as it’s hard on wood finish and bluing/browning. I make a solution with car windshield wash , Windex, Murphy’s oil soap and isopropyl alcohol. It seems to work well and have been employing the same windshield was jug since ‘07 YMMV

    Picked up a T/C Hawken

I have two TC peep sights. One I picked up (by fluke) several years ago and it sits on my .58 GM barrel on my TC Hawken (was .54). I can’t remember what I paid but it was over $100 CDN. The second one I have came on a TC Renegade which for the price, was worth more than the Renegade. Peep...

    Picked up a T/C Hawken

You can never have too many Hawken rifles or TC Hawken rifles at that. I just need a .45 cal to finish my collection. it’s too bad we Canadians don’t have access (as easily) to percussion barrels from the US unless we hold an FFL. Enjoy your new barrel and please share pics amd let us know...

    .54 cal Blue Ridge rifle

I have the Pedersoli Frontier in 32 & 50 both flintlock. The 50 was originally percussion but the only way my brother would gift it to me was to convert it to flint. Weeks later my TOTW order arrived with a very fine looking and working L&R lock. Both shoot great. I hope to hunt with both this...

    Plunger guns vs break opens

I’ve had plunger (traditions 209 tracker), hinge (break) action- TC Encore and a NEF Huntsman, Bolt action Knight Disc Extreme and currently using TC Omega. Accuracy IMO all dwindles down to “lock time”. And if using optics- the quality of scope. I use the Nikon Omega. Leupold makes a dandy...

Lyman Plains Pistol 54cal First Target shoot

Here’s a question. Would you ever consider taking a deer or something bigger (not bear- way too many bear gun threads in the internet lol) with the Plains Pistol? Up here in Canada 🇨🇦. Hunting with a pistol is prohibited - just paper targets here at a certified gun range. Short range of...

    Rear sight placement

Have you thought about using a rear aperture sight? With my slowly failing eyesight due to age (48)I found the peep-sights to be the best alternative. Plus these were what we trained with in the military 30yrs ago. But with your lengthening the sight radius that could in fact be a good...
