    Load developement questions

Thank you. I will start using the damp patch followed by a dry patch. Follow up question regarding my last range session. My load development session was at 50 yards with my CVA Accura MR with a red dot 1x scope. Pin point aiming is difficult at best. I shot 3 shot groups with multiple...

    Load developement questions

When “cleaning between every shot” during load development what is your process? Do any of you remove the breech plug? I shoot BH 209 and also Pyrodex RS depending on the day. I have read on here some using pyrodex use a spit patch once per side followed by a dry patch once per side (from the...

    Vent liner question

Thank you Ron! So last question for this topic (I think) how do I measure the flash hole? Is there a cleaning tip or rod I can find locally that is .037" I will have to think about that tungsten carbide bushing as a lifetime fix...

    Vent liner question

I shoot a CVA Accura MR and use BH 209. I also use a CVA BH 209 breech plug. Will I need a vent liner at some point? How or where is the best place to get set up with the ability to use a vent liner?

    Velocity help

I live out west and hunt mostly mule deer and elk. I prefer 1 load to hunt both with. If it was just a deer gun I would shoot the lighter bullets for sure

    Any love for Powerbelts?

With all of the options of bullets out there, I personally wont hunt with them. They are too soft for my taste I would get some MMP or Harvester sabots and fit test those Barnes Expanders. I personally us an MMP sabot and an XTP mag and they work incredibly well on deer and elk. If I were to...

    Brothers Utah Bull

To answer a couple quick questions, We were on the Pahvant unit in Central Utah He hit him in the high shoulder area. But, that gun has killed a bunch of mule deer with this load and not one of them has taken a step either it kills like lightning!

    Brothers Utah Bull

My brother shot this great bull here in Utah this past monday. Lots of scouting and effort but he was rewarded! We got within 85 yards of him and the CVA Accura MR with 300 gr. XTP Mag did the job! Dropped him in his tracks. Thought I would share since a bunch of you have helped me develop...

    Accuracy issues

I had the same exact issue last year. Ended up sending back 3 scopes for replacement and even bought a new gun. IMO the sled was causing my scopes to break. The vendor does not check the scopes, rather they just replace them and toss the bad ones. I will never know for sure what happened. My...

240 gr. And 300 gr. XTP velocities?

Thanks, yep it came thru. Has anyone verified these numbers thru a shorter barrel?

240 gr. And 300 gr. XTP velocities?

I am curious if anyone out there shooting a CVA Accurra MR has used a chronograph to get velocities for these two bullets using 70 gr. by weight/100 gr. Volume of blackhorn? I know every gun will vary but I am looking for ballpark velocities for my loads. Anyone care to share?
