I totally understand, hoped to go tomorrow morning but wife bas other plans for us lol
Weather looks to warm up in a few days, looks like i will be able to get out Wednesday afternoon through Saturday.
Good luck!
Went out yesterday morning, couldn’t keep my feet warm but managed to hunt 4 hours. It was 5 degrees with a wind chill of -11
Saw 5 deer and missed a chance at an 8 pointer that admittedly needs another year or two to mature.
Still need a doe for the freezer and will hope to get one later in...
I am foolishly going out tomorrow morning here in MO, it is very cold but I am that excited to hunt with my ML’er.
Good luck and post a pic of your CVA and your deer if you are successful.
I use Sta-Bil 360 performance in all my small engines, have done this for ever and never had an issue. I put it in every tank as advised by an old small engine builder I knew way back when.
This method works on a larger scale as well, stuff is cheap insurance.
I have that scope on my AR, the 3.6 is the max eye relief. I personally wouldn’t use it on either of my ML’ers. I have a Bushnell Elite 3200 on my Traditions and a Leupold VX Freedom ML’er scope on my CVA and both have more than 4” of eye relief and work very well. Honestly, the Bushnell AR...
I shoot 250 grain Barnes TE-Z’s out of my Traditions Pursuit UL and moved to the Harvester 300 grain Hornady XTP’s out of my CVA Accura V2 because I shoot it more and use it as my primary ML for hunting.
They are always in stock when I go directly to their site...
He isn’t, the 10 yr single barrel doesn’t come in a 1.75, he is likely referring to the brown label sour mash that is commonly found for $20 for a handle. It isn’t bad for the price!
I like a lot of different bourbons/whiskeys, go to’s would be anything Woodford, anything Old Forester, anything Michters, anything Wild Turkey, Blanton’s when I can find it, then a whole bunch of others lol
Around St. Louis we have a lot of indoor ranges you can be a member or just go in and shoot as a guest depending on the place, it’s ok for an occasional pistol shoot for an hour. We also have two outdoor ranges ran by our conservation, they are both nice but the one closest to my house has been...
Good stuff, I too was just wondering how many shots (roughly) were in a 10oz jug of BH 209. For me it wasn’t about cost per shot but solely the number of loads I can expect out of a jug so I know when I need to start looking for another jug.
As mentioned, Midway has been stocking Federal 209 primers. You can buy a 1000 of them for what gunbroker is selling a single pack of 100 from what I have been hearing.

I throw a patch down the barrel after about 8 shots and clean the breech plug while I’m at it to ensure good ignition, this way my accuracy stays in check.
You will find your CVA barrel will have better tolerance than your Traditions, at least that is the case for me.
Practice with whatever...
I am at the property now and getting ready to go sit for a couple hours with my bow, don’t need a kill per-say but would be awesome just to see a deer in the snow on the last day of the season.
