Laser Cast .40 cal170 gr lead SWC, Blackhorn 209

Hi all, Well, it's time to get the new CVA Wolf to the range and practice for deer season. This will be my first time shooting a ML, though I have many years experience with centerfire rifles. While I have some .45 cal 300 gr XTP's and some .44 cal 230 gr FTX's those will be reserved for a...

    When We Stole A Deer!

I found this while surfing the net and just had to share. It takes place in an area near where I hunt, so it has a bit of special significance to me: When We Stole A Deer! James C. Gates This story is about an incident some 50 years ago this Fall. I suppose everyone involved is either dead, or...

    .451 diameter 45 cal. bullets

Two words ... design point. Bullets, like all engineered objects, have a design "point". Operate either side of that point and performance suffers and eventually becomes unacceptable. The 200 gr. XTP has a design point at a typical .45 ACP velocity. Move too much on either side of that point...

Western Powders Blackhorn 209 Breech Plug for CVA

Yep, talked with Carlos. The lower price Carlos is able to sell it for is at least partially due to not including a rather expensive wrench. Carlos, like Lester above, suggests simply using a screwdriver. Thanks for the replies everyone! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Western Powders Blackhorn 209 Breech Plug for CVA

I received my Western Powders breech plug from Carlos at Ed's Gunshop. Since it didn't come with a wrench or instructions, I'd appeciate any advice on torquing it down for the first time. I'm not sure of just how much muscle is needed to get the plug to initially seat properly. Just gudentite?

Just completed the purchase of some bullets and sabots from DCS and couldn't be more pleased. Dave is great to deal with.

Vince is a great guy to deal with. He shipped the items immediately and stayed in contact to ensure they were delivered. :yeah: :yeah:

    Ohio ML Deer.

Congrats on a great hunt. Hope the weather isn't too bad for you folks, but I can sympathize. It got down to 45 here last Friday and I damn near froze to death!

    Hello from Tennessee

Ah yes, God's country! My son graduated from UT last spring, so I took the opportunity to travel some mountain roads on my motorcycle.

    CVA blackhorn 209 BP

I saw that one on eBay; I'll reserve comment on the bidders. I received a new Wolf for Christmas, so yesterday I ordered the Western Powders plug from Ed's Gun Shop for only $29.00. Gander Mountain has the CVA version for $19.99.

    Hello from Tennessee

Welcome. What part of Tennessee do you hail from? I spent about 18 years working in Memphis before moving to the sunshine state.

    Hello from Flatistan

Hi everyone! I'm new to muzzleloading, but not hunting and shooting. I've competed in IDPA, NRA Across-the-Couse Highpower and trap. My passion is turkey hunting, but since moving to Florida from Tennessee I've found myself chasing hogs more and more. Anyway, I'm looking forward to trying to...

Hi everyone! My first post here since I'm a newbie to ML, but not to shooting and hunting. My lovely wife got me a CVA Wolf with Konus scope!
