You're right about the 230 grains! I had all of my 45 acp ammo out yesterday and that was still on my mind. We shoot 295 grain bullets not 230.

I did notice what powder he was using. It was Hodgdon Triple 7. He had an inline muzzle loader. The kind that when you pull the trigger, the firing pin moves forward and hits the primer. Sorry, I'm very new at this and I don't know all of the correct terminology.

No powder pellets, no sabots and no scope. That's all I know for sure. I also know I want to shoot the exact same for deer that I shoot for elk. Just like with my bow, every arrow and every broad head I shoot are the exactly the same. Just keeps things easier that way.
