@CatamountRob: I own a strike and I believe it is the latter reason. My weapon is a solid 200-yard shooter. If I had a longer range to shoot at, I would have a longer opinion.

They are real. They are super quiet but have a short effective range.
Mine is failing. It is not a TC Strike mount. I didn't mention it is a Weaver 1" Pivot Mount Scope Rings Satin Finish #49220 with a Weaver 336 Pivot Mount Base (#163) that is failing.
I'm wanting a Redfield Peep Sight on my Strike. Because of the design it looks like I will have to use a peep mounted on the rear stock like sorta that on a Savage 99. Any suggestions?
