    Duplex loads......

No, I am shooting the AeroMax. And yes, I have gotten good results with singles but of I had look over the long run, I would have to give the edge to the duplex? And no, I have not shot duplex loads the past few trips up there. I know I used 4227 in the spring and N-120 last summer as singles...

    Duplex loads......

Tell that to my targets and low ES's Luke. Every week I shoot both single's and duplex loads. I have gotten good results with both but would give the edge to the duplex.

    Duplex loads......

Understood, but I only post on Hank's if members are interested in any of my testing.

    Duplex loads......

I don't usually post much here as most that are into smokeless muzzle loading will log on to Hank's Message board for good solid information. http://hanksmessageboard.freeforums.net/board/3/modern-smokeless-muzzleloaders Somehow, duplexing in smokeless muzzle loading seems to get avoided by most...

    Bestill Rifle

The Fury's are definitely good. I did a lot of testing of Dennis's bullets when he first started making them for muzzle loading. On the other hand, their BC is not up to what Kyle Pittman's AeroMax bullets are and that relates to long(er) range accuracy being a bit better. Dennis indicated...

Saying it held up? But for how many shots? Realistically?

Happy to get into SL MLs but not sure about....

If I had a FFL my hat would be in the ring with these other builders mentioned. Shipping is a problem if the action is registered as "center fire!" If it is a muzzle loader action, then I can deal with it. Jeff Hankins would be my choice since I know and shoot with him twice a year and have...

California Newbie Looking for First ML

If you are not limited to black powder or black powder substitutes, then I would seriously look at going with smoke-less powder in a properly put together rifle. Then you could still use a 209 ignition system but, if allowed, an ignition system that uses Large Rifle Primers...

    300 yds.

I think the further away you get, the less visible the holes become in red........remember, red will turn to black as the light fades. This is why IBS 600 and 1K use light blue for the outter nine and ten rings leaving the X ring white.

    Direct Ignition systems

I don't mess with the break actions, only the CF bolt actions. For me, the Hank's DI is definitely the way to go. Although, I may be trying the brass modules in a HIS breech plug with no bushing. Instead, replacing the bushing with a 5/6-18 x 1/2" set screw drilled with a #46 (.080") hole. I...

I have three adjustibles, two with FF inserts and five fixed dies. You can't have too many!

Article about Savage 10ML II - Think outside the box.

Not a problem? You are screwing them in before adding the powder charge? They are the best, most reliable ignition system for a muzzle loader..........I happen to use them for smokeless operation. 3,000 fps with 300 gr. bullets and mine have over a hundred repriming on them and they are as...

Just Found Out Smokeless is Legal in FL

Actually, if you are into traditional or old fashion black powder guns, have fun playing those games..........on the other hand if you are looking for a way to extend your rifle hunting season into muzzle loading and still have the same degree of accuracy and reach, then smokeless is the way to...

Just Found Out Smokeless is Legal in FL

Once you have shot a quality SML, you will throw away your smoke pole. 300 gr. Pittman AeroMax bullets at 3,000 fps under an inch at 300 yards will make you a believer!

    Weigh your powder.

If I was strictly using my ML for hunting, the only thing my scale would be used for is adjusting my Harrell's powder measure..........on the other hand, if you are really into long(er) range bench rest type accuracy, then scaling your charges is almost a "must!". The fact that even the best of...

    Weigh your powder.

Go to any short range bench test match and you will find everyone using precision Culver type powder measures to throw their charges. Conversely, long rangers will all weight charges. A tenth of a grain difference of N133 with a 66 grain 6mm bullet at 100 or 200 yards will not change...

    Testing.45 .015 Jacket 300 grain Accumax bullets

Doug...you need a mic that measures to five places after the dot (.00000). The Mitatoyo I bought last year ran about $130

    Testing.45 .015 Jacket 300 grain Accumax bullets

They look good Doug but probably no advantage over the .021's for sabotless/smokeless.
