    Remington up and running 24/7

Bought by CZ after the bankruptcy. Edit to add, CZ is a fine company, I have a 2015 Dan Wesson .45 that is tight and very accurate. Yes CZ bought them too. American? no, but that is the way for years now.

    Stimulus check

I've been getting that since last spring when the first one came out, despite having filed online and they had my info. So I've got to add them all to this years filing I guess. Would have been bad if I was unemployed and really needing it. Guv'ment at work (or not).

    Enjoy

Hang in there Encore, hopefully they'll get it stopped soon. I can't imagine dealing with that in the meantime though. All good thoughts coming your way.

    rust on stainless steel cva

I'll have to add the WD long term to my shopping list. #2 for the Honda polish GM54, works great on the bike windshield, and fairing, so why not on a rifle. This thread reminds me of camping in the beside the salt water flats down by Kennedy space center back when you could do that. My...

    Barnes Expander bullet questions

We got off on the wrong foot guys, he's asking about the .45 cal. Barnes expander bullet. Doug's suggestions above sound good though. Edit: I think I see now. OP's post was edited to .45 cal. bullet without notation maybe.

    AFTER Deer Season Ends....

Had to get out of my northern camp in Maine this year due to heavy snow in early November. No sign what so ever then. Hunted 80 miles south with friends in the "civilized" farm region.Had a Doe tag for that, and got a nice one for the freezer. Now I look at facebook and see a hundred deer...

looking for a Blackhorn 209 in Maine

If you have no luck at Walmart, (I didn't), I have 1/2 bottle left from last years purchase at Cabellas. I'm going to Bangor 10/12 to pick up my son at the airport for a bird hunt. I can meet or leave it there if you know someone in town. My brother is close to Cabellas and can pick me up a new...

    Knight KP1 and Inline Newbie

Welcome maineboy, glad to see you are getting to the bottom of the issue. Shawn and the whole gang here were a great help to me as well. You can't get much farther north than that without a passport! I'm in the zone 9 region above Moosehead lake. I feel your pain to have a misfire lose a buck...

Light and fast or slow and heavy

I too still hunt in northern Maine, and you and most of us hunt alike. The new cutting practices are growing in the old clear cuts to mixed growth, which is good overall I think. With the 'Bucks only' rules now, that 3 seconds to ID and shoot is tough. Miss the old 'brown it's down' days. I hunt...

How long do Knight Western breech plugs last?

Pete Heck with the eyebrows, it's the nose hairs that drive me crazy, Tweezers work for that perfectly. Yank 'em! Also: Forceps, clamps, dental pics, scalpels, and surgeons scissors should be in your box for fine work on everything. Cheap at my local flea market, Send address and I'll fix you up.

    Weighing Powder for 150 years

Read Squeeze post again. I take that to mean, BP and subs are hygroscopic. Where as blackhorn and CF powders are not.

The .32cal Marathon inline is done, little pic heavy

Looks great Shawn! Glad you where able to deal with the barrel issues as well. The Tru oil is blinding at this point, but can always be scuffed back a bit when cured. Looks like both you and pupsdad will be sighting in soon. I'll be bringing my Firehawk .32 to Maine this week for some braised...

    A writer researching a blunderbuss

Interesting question, and welcome! A blunderbuss was a flintlock designed for maximum spread of shot at short distances in the 15th'-16th century, probably earlier. No firing pins then. A spark was created by a flint to a combustible frizzen (combustible) material, and carried down the "touch...

    Can you feel the burn?

Thanks for the recipe, I'll follow that exactly as I don't always see tomatillos, but they're available now. My last batch above was passable after simmering, but still sour.
