Day at the range, couple questions

I forgot to add: I am so glad I didn't give up on this gun. I was so close to ditching it and going with something else. I can definitely see this gun has the potential to be crazy accurate as long as I do my part.

Day at the range, couple questions

So I used the PT Golds in the Crushed Rib sabots that they come with. I used the green Crushed Rib sabots for the .429 XTPs

Day at the range, couple questions

I just checked them out. Looks like they don't offer a 3-petal EZ for .429-.430x50 cal, which is the the size of XTP i was having issues with.

Out of curiosity, before doing that would using a different sabot make any difference you think?

I definitely liked it, and my gun seemed to prefer it also. Just loading it was a pain.

Day at the range, couple questions

First off, thanks to everyone helping me out over the past couple years with the issues I've been having with my Knight Mountaineer. So recapping the issues I've had with this gun since buying it about 3-4 year ago. Primers sticking. Lots of blowback. Knight sent me 2 different new breech...

How far away when testing loads?

Hey guys, I was just curious when you are testing to see what bullet/sabot/charge works best with your muzzleloader, what range do you typically do it at? Not sighting in, just for finding best groups. Thanks!

    Capper/De-capper for Mountaineer

Curious if anyone uses a capper tool for their Knight Mountaineer or Ultralight. I have small hands and still have a heck of a time getting the primer into the pocket, and more so getting it OUT without tipping the gun and tapping it/using a screwdriver. I just bought a tool made by Traditions...

BH 209 - No need to clean? Explanation?

Awesome, thank you. Using this, would you just run it down the barrel and back out and use this method during your sight in? Then run another down before loading for your hunt?
