    Ramrod

I have found several of mine to shoot better without. In theory it would make sense . If you think about how important it is to free float a barrel in a good target rifle. I use a 3 piece ram rod and remove the Ferrell’s and sand out the barrel channel in the stock and have seen improvement on...

200gr Shockwave vs 250 gr Shockwave

I use the 200 grain shockwaves in my encore with the 25acp breech plug small magnum rifle primers and 100 grains of blackhorn and am under 2.5” @ 250 yards and have killed many deer the furthest being just under 300 yards

Oh I see what your saying with the 209s and crush fit, I was still thinking the variflame. But your European primers may help there also. Where are you purchasing them, if you don’t mind?

Bustsa that’s what I was saying from what I’ve heard true or not??? The bolt face does not cam it stays stationary as the spring loads. There shouldn’t be a need for shims as the spring creates surface pressure on the bolt nose to ( keep it sealed) I’m just thinking just in case. As you can tell...

And as I said I was thinking about the original variflame adapters that were the same as a 209 I no the large rifle are bigger after thinking about it.

    CVA Paramount

My thought was since the paramount bolt head does not hold the primer or adapter and you are inserting it by hand and my undstanding that the bolt face is stationary as it closes and is compressed by the spring it might work

I was just thinking since the bolt face was spring loaded head spaced if you could find the proper oring or a soft thin walled copper or high temp plastic washer it may work.

    CVA Paramount

I have the 25 acp breech plug in my encore using magnum small rifle primers and am happy with it, I just hope the got the paramount variflame sealed up. Gm54-120 do you no on the variflame 2 being that the paramount is a self head spacing bolt could it be possible to use o rings to help seal?
  12. H

    CVA Paramount

Excuse me, I confused the variflame 2 with the variflame which you can use in the standard 209 breech plug.

The 22 hornet system is similar to the rem 700 umm system and is not the same as the variflame. The variflame adapter which uses a large rifle prime inserted in it has the same outside dimensions as a 209 primer. That is why you can use a 209 without the adapter.

Most accurate In Line, for the money

I have a great shooting encore 209x50 magnum , after I removed the that stupid bore guide and had a 11* target crown cut. I also had a trigger spring kit put in and a locking hinge pin. It will shoot 2.5 @ 300 yards with 200 grain shockwaves and 100 grains of bh209. That being said I had another...

    Out with the old

I’am new to this forum, but in no way to muzzleloading. I have owned somewhere in the neighborhood of 40-45 ( I’m sure nowhere near most you) and have hunted exclusively with them for the last 20 + years. I just don’t understand the big deal about having to use tools to take your bolt, action, or...

CVA Leaked the new Paramount Muzzleloader

I no in early testing , even with the breech leaking ( which I understand they have fixed) they reported sub Moa @ 300 yards
