    CCI #11 caps

Just one other thought. I grew up with all the Jap stuff floating around. I learned about weak hammer springs from them. Not all were , but it only takes one.

NEW AD FOR FEDERAL PREMUIM AMMO FOR MUZZLELOADERS

Right on Pat! That's what I was trying to say but too worked up to think of it . The whole thing is about money . Were retired  so making money is out of the equation , but spending it ain't.

NEW AD FOR FEDERAL PREMUIM AMMO FOR MUZZLELOADERS

In a lot of cases the market just tries to put a different color on the same old wheel. Jon mentioned about the kill. That's got nothing to do with what I was hollering about. In some cases , you could buy centerfire ammo as cheap. In our case here, that's what we are doing, only thing is we are...

NEW AD FOR FEDERAL PREMUIM AMMO FOR MUZZLELOADERS

You know , if a person would take stock of what the present day costs of a hunt are you could be eating the best cuts of meat , and still be money ahead. Things are well out of hand when you are the captive bunch.  That must be why a lot of use try to make most of everything we can. It is not...

    3 Deer. 3 Misfires. With BH209! Question.

Yup. everything that shines ,is not always real gold. That's why I recommend ,and stick with , the real thing. But , even with a hang fire , if your doing your job, it should still draw blood.I hang around some hot flinchlock shooters. You won't put these fellows down with a simple hanger.Learn...

    Petals breaking off

I think the main thing here is , no matter if the petals break off or not, set them in the bore ,alongside the bullet and drive the whole mess down home. That,s what I done just to see. The bullet goes right on. I would be willing to bet differently if your threw one or two petals away. I really...

    Info on this scope

These are the "red dots " I bragg about. Not necessarily the brand. They are mostly a 100yd max setup . Real fast to use ,and great for coon hunting. My only draw back is the battery. Great for teaching the young ones also.

    Good Ram Rod ?

One way to help onesself is to always use a shorter grip on the rod when driveing it home. Eliminates a lot of flex. That's why you have a broken one.

    Petals breaking off

Mr Dawg1215, I agree with your reasoning here. I have a few laying in my junk box that are older. When I tried to see if they had stiffened, I broke some petals off easily. Can't tell you the brand cause it's been  a while.

You know, for being "out of  print" for quite a while, those old Thompson sure hold the money. GPR are right up there also. Gotum both and loveum .I'm a poor man, gotta be content with what I have, just have to dream about the higher end stuff.

    Black Powder

I have been really lucky in my life time also. All the trouble I've been around with powder has resulted in burns , not with myself though. Usually they are very serious, deep , and right now. I've never researched this but, just to my knowledge, I'd say way more people are burnt than are killed...
