    First time shooting a muzzleloader...

Not all barrels bulge or blow up every time from a short seated bullet, or a double charge, or shooting a ramrod down range. Just like all old dynamite doesn’t explode when you pick it up. You just picked up old dynamite and it didn’t go off. You were lucky, but you don’t want to press your...

    Blackhorn 209.....WTH

I know I’ll probably catch an earful for that post, I had a couple too many wobble pops when I posted it. It was the “way more than what I need” part that got to me. There are thousands of people who have “way more than what I need” and thousands of us who can’t find powder or primers. If...

    Blackhorn 209.....WTH

    DISTANCE SURVEY:

All of my archery kills have been less than 60 yards with about 25 being the closest. Most of my centerfire kills have been over 100 yards with the majority in the 2-300 yard range. Had a couple under 100 and one elk about 400. Most of my muzzy kills were right about 100 yards with one or two...

    Cleaning confusion

Brass and aluminum are both softer than your barrel so you won’t get any damage from them, like trying to cut wood with a bar of soap, not gonna happen. I only break mine clear down after I’m done shooting. Just a patch or two down the bore between shots or groups is all you need to do while...

    Looking for White in .504

I may have a couple for sale soon. Depends on what my boys decide. I offered each of them one if they want it. If they don’t, I’m gonna sell two.

    New guy new gun...help

I have a handful of Doc’s guns. As suggested above, go with a No Excuses 460 grain, or a Bullshop 400+ grain (I don’t shoot them so I don’t know the exact grain they come in) anywhere between 70-110 grains of propellant, should find you a good accurate load. I personally would stay with 400...

What Am I Gonna Be When I Grow Up

My BH plug has gas cutting around the sealing surface letting fouling into the threads. I don’t know if I didn’t do the initial tightening tight enough or if there was a defect in it to begin with. I do know it’s tight to get it out.
