What Am I Gonna Be When I Grow Up

It’s not finished quite yet. When it is, it should be a dead giveaway. Any guesses? First one to guess correctly, EXACTLY what it is gonna be used for, I’ll send one to you, if you have the need.

    Parasite

This is the meat of a young mule deer buck that my son shot yesterday. Looking it up online it says it’s tape worm larvae. Yummy! Waste of a deer and tag. Anybody ever seen this before?

    Ramrod Ends

Building this for a friend. His son lost the end to the ramrod this year while out hunting. I’ll add a pic of the final results when it’s done.

    BC on No-Excuse .504 460

I have a friend who is trying to set up a a Vari-x 5 on his S91 .504. He is shooting 90 grains Pyro Select RS. Zeroed at 100 yards and 23.75 low at 200 yards. MV at about 10’ from muzzle is 1257 (12 FPS ES) 300 yards, 97” low. I’ve tried plugging those numbers into a b.c. Calculator...

    Winchester Mansion

The wife and I just got back from a little anniversary trip to San Jose where we toured the Winchester Mansion (Winchester Mystery House). It was pretty interesting. It made me want to look up Oliver Winchester to learn a little more about him. It’s amazing to me that his innovations have...

    .416 Barrett vs. .308 Winchester

Not posting this to claim to be a good shot or anything like that, only to show the difference in energy between the two rounds. It was windy yesterday and it took a few shots to get on the plate. I had four reloads left from the guy I bought the rifle from, four of my reloads left, and one 10...

    Muzzle Brake

A couple of pics of the muzzle brake I built for my son’s .308 Howa. It still needs a little clean-up on the finish. I’d like all the tooling marks removed. A birthday present from dad. I know a .308 doesn’t need one, but less recoil is less recoil.

    No Deer This Year

Looks like I won’t be doing any hunting this year:(. I guess I have elk I can chase. The unit I hunt is a wild goose chase though... maybe next year

    Best Buck With a Muzzleloader

This is the best buck I’ve ever taken with my muzzleloader. Shot him at 75 yards with my Renegade and a PRB 30 years ago. Let’s see your pics!

    Homemade press

I built this press for my .416 Barrett. It cost me about $30. It took a lot of hours in the shop, so I would have been money ahead to buy one, but I’m a tight wad...

    New Shop Under Way

Poured footings on my new shop on Tuesday.. Started setting stem wall forms today. Hopefully pour those on Monday. 40x50x10 steel building will be delivered on 11/20. It will be nice to finally have all my stuff at my house, in my shoo, instead of renting.

    BH209 Static Cling

Does anyone else have trouble with BH209 and static cling? I wipe down my funnel and charge holders with a dryer sheet, inside and out, and that works initially, but after a couple of days, it’s back. It also seems like I have an entire load left in the bottle, when it’s empty, that is...

    Boys first buck!

A few years ago, my wife and I had a spare bedroom due to a couple of our older children leaving the nest. We (she) decided we had the room and means to help some less fortunate than us, and took in a couple of foster children. A set of brothers aged 6 and 4. Long story short we adopted them...

    Muzzle Brake

Haven’t decided if I dare thread one of my White’s barrels. May stick this on an old Optima I bought on close out at Wally World for $119. Still needs cleaned up a bit. Gonna probably tumble it in glass beads for a day or two, then see how it looks. 3/4x24 thread.
