I grabbed some from my wife’s craft supplies. Ran it down through and it feels pretty open. Was going to take it out today to see if everything helped but it’s just too windy. I want to also get some accurate sighting done when I go. Thanks for all the help and suggestions.

Pardon my lack of understanding, but how does the mainspring affect ignition? I assume you are talking about the spring in the hammer. The cap does fire every time. Thanks.

I am using standard caps. I had no problem with them and T7 (albeit FFg) in my 50 cal Hawken.

Will it work with a #10 cap? I can get some Pyrodex if I have to, but I got 3# of the T7 FFFg.

After I wrote that, I did clean it out. Ran hot water down the barrel and cleaned it out with about a dozen patches. That little ridge did seem to be gone. I did trim the patch before running it down, but probably not enough. I’ll have to get back out and see if it fires correctly now. Maybe...

Does anyone know of a place to source a .32 caliber metal ramrod? I can’t seem to find one anywhere. Would a regular brass cleaning rod work? Thanks.

Hadn't thought of that. Just saw that the diameter was the same as the PRBs. Are there conicals made for a 32 caliber?

I was just wondering if it is possible to shoot a Hornady 7.62 SST 123 grain bullet out of a .32 Caliber Squirrel rifle. Their diameter is .310 (just like the round balls). I'm thinking the barrel twist rate would be too slow, but don't know. Just curious. Thanks.

I just realized that I didn’t give a timeframe. They were loaded by me 1 1/2 years ago during the season. They have been stored in the basement in soft-aided gun cases. I was planning on pushing down to make sure the projectiles hadn’t jostled up off the powder.

I will try this and use the safety suggestions. It was me that loaded them. Was going to go out the next morning, then life got in the way. Thanks for the advise, folks.

I have a CVA Optima and a Hawkins style ML. Just came to realize that they have been sitting with powder and projectile all this time (no caps because I’m not THAT stupid). is it ok to shoot them to clear? Thanks.

Hello All, I was wondering if it was possible to change the barrel on my Hawken rifle from a 50 cal to a 32 cal (...or any other caliber, assuming that it fits the stock correctly). I was just wondering since the barrel comes off so easily. Thanks.
