    Percussion Pistol "Speed Shooting".....

So, why do we need a patch ever if it's not necessary?

Free TC Black Diamond Rifle with scope :-/

May I ask what the scope is on that rifle?

    Percussion Pistol "Speed Shooting".....

I have a novice observation. You didn’t use a patch. Can you tell me why you didn’t need to.

    Viewing The Bore

I did the battery thing and was pleasantly surprised to see it was at least shiny! I was thinking it would be totally dark and rusty down there. I'll do some more scrubbing and hopefully get out to shoot it soon. I'll let you know how that goes.

    Viewing The Bore

So my Dad passed away 3 years ago and I have his TC .50 Hawken. I hadn't had time to really look at it until now. The rifle is beautiful...on the outside. The bore is not. I can only see the first inch or 2 down the muzzle but it doesn't look too clean. How can I view the rest of the bore...

    Loading spin jag

This sounds like the right move. I like it.

    Loading spin jag

Yep. Either remove the ramrod and attach the jag or leave the ramrod and attach the jag after the shot. That's what I did this year but in the past I have not used a jag at all, just use the ramrod. But that's where witness marks begin to fail. Ok, I think I'll order a spin jag. Anybody see...

    Loading spin jag

I think I'll just continue to screw the jag on the ramrod for follow up loading.

    Loading spin jag

So palm saver needs to be removed. Ok.
  15. Bones816

    Loading spin jag

My jags don't fit through the thimble. They are too big.
  16. Bones816

    Loading spin jag

Do you take out the ramrod, screw on the jag then load? I told you it was a dumb question.
  17. Bones816

    Loading spin jag

    Thimble!
  18. Bones816

    Loading spin jag

The problem is the jag doesn't fit in the ramrod holders. I don't even know what you call them!
  19. Bones816

    Loading spin jag

I have a dumb question for y 'all. Do you use a loading jag only at the range or in hunting scenarios too? Normally i don't use a jag when hunting because it has to be taken off to put the ramrod on the gun. Problem is then I need a different witness mark.

    Still No Blood!

I was hoping for instant blood trail at the point of impact with the Lehighs. It didn't happen but I'll be sticking with them. I will just be choosing my shots more carefully. Thanks for all the input guys. Oh yeah, I don't think I'll be going to BH 209 til the 777 is gone either even...
