    Viewing The Bore

So my Dad passed away 3 years ago and I have his TC .50 Hawken. I hadn't had time to really look at it until now. The rifle is beautiful...on the outside. The bore is not. I can only see the first inch or 2 down the muzzle but it doesn't look too clean. How can I view the rest of the bore...

    Still No Blood!

First let me say I haven't been here for like a year. Last year at the advise of members here I switched to a Lehigh Defense 265 grain Controlled fracture bullet. Last year I shot a buck but had no blood for about 30-40 yards I'd say but found the buck. Tonight I shot a buck, 150 yards or so I...

Anybody Kill A Deer With A BP Pistol

I have a Traditions 50 cal black powder pistol. I'm gonna kill a deer with it next year. Anybody have load recommendations. Shot should be inside 40 yards. I'm thinking Pyrodex or possibly T7 and a conicle or round ball. What do ya got?

    Another Ramrod Question

I have an Accura with the Palm Saver on it. Are you guys carrying a loading jag and screwing that on the other end when reloading in the field?

How can I make my ramrod black again?

The ramrod for my Accura is pretty scratched up. I’d like to make it all black again so I can put new witness lines on it. What can I use? Shoe polish? Little help please.

    Breech Plug Grease/Anti Seize

So I’ve been using an old tube of Bore Butter on the breech plug threads of my Accura. It works pretty good I think but it’s almost gone. I have a tube of Birchwood Casey choke tube lube. Will that work?

    Got One

I haven't been on here for quite a long time. Started looking for some info and ended up back here! Shot a buck last week with my Accura PR. Shot was near 100 yards. 110 gr by volume of loose 777 and a 265 gr Lehigh Defense CF in a MMP-HPH-24. Bullet entered mid rib and exited just behind...

    Cleaning A Muzzleloader Breechplug

Do these actually fit all the way through a CVA BH209 QRBP? If not how do you clean one out? My nipple cleaner doesn't reach all the way.

    Sabots, MMPs or Harvester? Why?

    What's your choice and why?

I HAVE to go burn some powder in this new rifle today!

I've got the itch, bad! I still don't have any BH so I'll use the 777s I have and I have 3 Hornady XTPs with green mmp sabots and I have 20 TC 250 gr Shock Wave in Super Glide sabots. This will be the first time firing this gun. I'll shoot the 3 XTPs first at 50 yards and see where we go from...

    Dbowling

I sold Dean a muzzleloader this week. He paid quickly and was a very nice guy to do business with. He even gave me shipping advice and probably saved me a few bucks! Ya gotta like that! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Forum Activity

So I'm pretty new here and I have to say I'm a little disappointed in the lack of activity. Which area here has the most activity? Does anybody know of another muzzleloader site that receives a little more attention?

    Dixie Gun Works

Anyone know if they're still around or if I can get parts for a .45 I built back 40 years ago? Maybe sh's junk and I shopuld just get rid of it but I don't know what I should do. Triggers are shot, barrel is probably toast, IDK...

    New Guy Here

Hey guys. I just ordered a new CVA Accura PR. I’ve been reading up quite a bit because I’m recovering from hip surgery and have lots of time on my hands. I found the site so, her I am. I actually have several muzzle loaders. A .45 Dixie I made in ‘76 which I killed a buck with in ‘77, several...
