    Climber chains

I bought an API Grand Slam Supreme climbing tree stand back in the 90's. This stand has performed well over the years but now the shrink wrap covering the chains is toast and there's some rust showing. I'd like to replace the chain and covering. Bass Pro wants over $60. and out of stock. The...

    XTP did the job

It was miserable opening day in Ohio. Cold rain wind and drizzle. Stuck it out and had success. I switched to a 300gr XTP after having a Shockwave pencil through a double lung shot buck last year with very little to no blood trail. I hit a mature doe Monday right in the boiler room and saw her...

    Omega blowback

I've discovered my Omega shoots better groups with Fed 209A primers than W209's. Carbon buildup in the flash channel from the Fed's is also much, much easier to clean out than the Winnies. Problem is I'm getting a lot of blowback now, making a mess of the entire breach plug, and bolt face...

    Remove Teflon

I've done some research and have read that using any cleaners/lubricants containing Teflon can cause erratic shots. That's great. Been using Rem oil and Breakfree CLP and have read both contain Teflon. This could explain why I need so many shots before my groups tighten up. Does anybody know a...

My Omega wants to be dirty

Went to the range again this morning to see if the rifle would repeat the same as last session. I stayed with one load throughout, the load I'm planning to hunt with. 300gr XTP/Harvester short blk 100gr vol BH209 Fed 209A primer The rifle and breech plug were cold and clean. I popped 3...

    Omega finally coming together

I posted a previous thread about my Omega shooting disappointing groups. Thanks to all that replied with some great suggestions. After yet another trip to the range, I experienced some dramatic improvement! I can now get consistent groups at 2in. at 100yds. That's good enough to hunt with for...

    new Omega barrel disappointment

I bought my 50cal Omega with an original Nikon Buckmasters 3x9 scope sometime back in the 90's and have taken many deer with it using 2 T7 pellets and a 240gr Shockwave. I wanted to switch to BH 209 and bought everything needed to do so. After inspecting the rifle, early summer, I noticed what...

    TC Omega cleaning question

I find it a bit easier to clean my Omega with the barrel removed from the stock. I have a scope on it and it's been brought to my attention that this could change the POI. Any thoughts?

    flash channel solvent?

Anybody know of a solvent that will loosen the hard carbon buildup in the flash channel? Drill bit works fine just takes some effort. That stuff is hard.

any love for the Bushnell Banner?

I'm having a Bushnell Banner 4x12 sent to me to try with no obligation to buy. These scopes are very economical at around $100. I like the idea of having an adjustable parallax which is usually only found on higher priced scopes. I'm not sure about proper clearance over the barrel on my Omega...

    BH209 bad weather concerns

I really want to jump on the band wagon with this stuff. There just seems to be so many advantages over the alternatives. I've already acquired a jug of 209 and can't wait to work up a load for my Omega. From what I've read, the Omega seems to be tailor made for 209 with the stock breech plug...

    Greetings from Ohio!

I'm 66 yrs young and can still get up a tree stand :D I've taken many deer with my Omega over the years using whatever supplies were left on the shelf at the sporting goods store. Different powder, bullets, primers whatever. Didn't seem to matter much cause I was shooting mostly inside of 100...

New guy..new diet for my Omega

Greetings to all! I've been enjoying this forum for quite awhile and amazed at the knowledge you guys possess. I've been filling my freezer for many years now with my TC Omega so I really like this gun. I started with Pyrodex pellets then Trip 7 both with very good results using a few assorted...
