When do your Bucks Shed their Antlers?

I live in central MO too (just south of Kansas City) and noticed fresh rubs two days ago. The bucks on trail cams still have antlers.

Buyer beware - prbullets - Cecil Epp

Only if a signature was required; most likely one wasn't.

Very very very very very very stuck breech plug

I'd try the cold then heat as well, but rather than starting with a torch I'd try a good heat gun on its highest setting first.

    "Fireproof" safe

My homeowner's policy covers them regardless if they're in a safe. I take pics of the firearm, then a close-up of the serial number and email them to myself in case of loss to fire or theft.

    Help: Recommend a Turkey Shotgun

Just buy this one and be done with it. Holler at George at Trulock Choke Tubes and tell him you want the best tube for Federal TSS #7 shot. You won't believe how wicked this setup is... you'll never need more than 3" shells with it though. Remington 870 SPS Super Mag ShurShot Turkey...

    Ear protection favorites?

How are they with wind noise? I used to have some of the original Walker's Game Ears, but the mics picked up so much breeze noise it was difficult to hear anything else.

    Scope

If you really want to get educated on optics and haven't bought one yet, go to a forum called opticstalk.com. There's an optoelectronics engineer on there, Ilya Koshkin, and he could help you out; has helped me several times. In fact, you'll get more info than you need...and it'll likely be...

    b-14 Bergara

Quality barrels. They’re a good rifle for entry-level benchrest shooting for people who’d like to try that discipline too.

The name makes sense, thanks much!

    Consistent Powder Measure?

I reload for all my centerfires, so the scale is no problem. But, how do I know how much I should be weighing out in T7 ffg? For example, I’ve been shooting 100grns/vol, but what should it weigh?

My best buck with a sidelock

Real nice. The wood in that stock is real sharp too.

    Consistent Powder Measure?

True enough...and I love that movie. It actually inspired my Dad to buy a Hawken in the 70's. It probably inspired a LOT of dads to buy a Hawken back then.:)

    Consistent Powder Measure?

Hey All, I have a couple different powder measures I use with 777 ffg and they measure volume differently, by probably 8-10 grains. I also have speed loaders with a measure on them, and when I pour the charges in there they measure differently too! I've settled on using one measuring tube...

Don’t be so hard on yourself; you could have been from Iowa...or Minnesota...or someplace much, much colder. 😉

    austin and halleck questions

I'm real happy they are designing those new plugs, thanks for sharing! Those look like they'll be MUCH better than the 209 conversion I'm using in mine now.

Solunar Tables? Does anyone here go by them?

I've taken far more trophy bucks at dawn and dusk than any other time of day, regardless of tables. However, I firmly believe one's particular hunting spot makes a big difference. For example, I see more at those times because most of my stands are set up with big timber on one side and either...
