    Has the Jump Been Made???

That article is very disappointing. It fails to mention the previous cases of VCJD documented in an in depth expose done by the now defunct Denver Rocky Mountain News. It was titled "Killer in the herds" or words to that effect. I lived outside Denver in the beginning years of this century. I...

Says right in their ad copy equipped with a carbon fiber barrel. Sounds like you have a point of contention against them.

Perfect practice makes practice perfect #1

If you really want to learn to crawl before you try to run, can I suggest y'all investigate an Appleseed shoot? If you are interested in learning a solid foundation, it'll be the best $85 you've spent since that one night in...

Sounds like Day One lessons at an Appleseed Weekend.

Ok, a closer look at the 1st pic shows the lock clearly, so I'd revise my guess to the late '90's, or early this century.

What is the revision number? In the cylinder crane cut out of your frame, the model number is stamped...It'll have a dash some number. You should be able to get a good guesstimate of their age that way. As a swag, I'd bet this century. Do they have the internal hammer locks? Those were from the...

Testing with a 50 caliber muzzleloader

I wouldn't suggest abandoning your concrete shooting bench right off. Use it to anchor your "launch pad" as it were. Figure out from a stable base which combo of powder/bullet/primer your particular rifle prefers, then get to trying all the particular positions you might encounter afield. Change...

    209X45 Encore & 45 Shooters

I think you need a tighter fitting sabot. How hard is seating your bullet to the powder charge?

    A little scam heads-up

Just think of the background data collection involved in determining what pieces of mail are headed your way....our government is tracking us soooo many ways we don't even think of.

Whats the shortest you would go? New bolt gun build.

Sorry, because I couldn't get my picture to upload straigh away, my comment kind of fell flat. If you look at the picture I posted of my 2 Remmy 700ml's leaning against my bookshelf, you can see a distinct difference in length of their factory barrels. Others posted Remmy offered 24 inch barrels...

Whats the shortest you would go? New bolt gun build.

I often wondered how well they measured those lengths. Here are 2 almost identical Remmy 700ml's. I know I didn't line them up on a toe line, et cetera...looks like 2" difference, or there roundsabout. Factory barrels, of course.

Man sad day Remingtons oldest factory closes after 200 years

I agree. Politics are why I live where I do..fortunately my job allows me to live whereever I'd like. I work with a gal from Alaska, and a couple of guys from Hawaii, on the Gulf Coast.

Man sad day Remingtons oldest factory closes after 200 years

I don't know if that's the case. I think one of the reasons the company is heading south is the right to work laws in the south. I think union labor up north helped motivate the re-organized company to look elsewhere. I would think the change in rate of pay would unmotivate a lot of the labor...

Man sad day Remingtons oldest factory closes after 200 years

When did Remmy purchase Marlin? I think you're compressing part of the history, while highlighting others. I apologize if I sounded demeaning to my southern neighbors. I was meaning to highlight the detrement to manufacturing known as union labor, while also highlighting how manufacturing...

Man sad day Remingtons oldest factory closes after 200 years

I think the Remington product you speak of is no longer associated with the Remington of the factory in upstate NY. I think the ammo products were split off in the bankruptcy process caused by the investment group that bought the Remington industry.

Man sad day Remingtons oldest factory closes after 200 years

I agree it's a sad day. However as y'all noted, the reasons were known to all involved. We get the government we elect. Each election has consequences. A string of elections like the previous ones snowballs the consequences. New England, and NY, actually not a NE state, shows us the consequences...
