    Twist rate and bullet length

I looked at these cutting edge 240’s for the Paramount w/sabot but JBM said 1/24 unstable. Anxious to try in .45 1:18 Traditions. This was researching hunting load low recoil low charge (100g) 84wt BH maintain Energy to 250 yds. Principal basically the same.

anyone know about the CVA Scout

Short answer no, using smokeless in the CVA modern conversions I see references to the pressures around 40,000psi (max43,000psi)comparable.for modern 45-70 cf with some max figures of the #1 reaching 58,000psi in testing. The lever 45-70 and scout both mentioned in reading. Random screenshots...

Triple 7 FFFG weight vs. volume and Bullet to bore

I accidentally bought 3f, after aging on my shelf, I gave it to a friend. 2f is “recommended” for rifles. 3f is hotter, faster, and slightly more powerful. Pistols, flash pan for flint locks. All I know but others know more. From my data and shooting 777 ff and Blackhorn are very close in...

    Traditions unboxing and delivery.

Looks like they combined them ???? I’m interested in the .40 w/.45 sabot also, I have some nice cutting edge 240 grain if they fly, could be good. or Great. Without endorsements from Hodgekins/Blackhorn & published data I imagine it’s tricky legally with load data liability. I’ll use bLackhorn...

No claims of max load I’ve seen yet, 100gr measured 2-50 pellets but the accelerator breech does blackthorn , and it’s mentioned.

    Traditions unboxing and delivery.

Delivery, wellI, I ordered march 14th, delivered April 3rd. I won’t post retailer but always check if retailer is an exclusive drop ship merchant, I saved maybe $20 and found out afterwards. Drop Ship = slow ship Usually orders are 5-7 days from order to my door

    Traditions unboxing and delivery.

I’ll start with unboxing 2 boxes, invoice on inner box, otherwise factory packaging. Rifle enclosed on plastic, accessories and even plugs for unused sight tap holes. 1:20 twist fluted on 1/2 the barrel. Break action, hammer, and especially trigger feel good, has a button ambidextrous safety...

Is it worth going black powder on traditional muzzle loaders?

777 FF powder not pellets- think of it as cleaner super charged BP, available everywhere and fair price.and run a patch every few shots if range shooting. 90g or less 100 will ring your bell. Clean w/hot water /modern BP solvent, TC 17 is amazing. Should do patched balls fine if not conical are...

when insert primer for CVA Accura

I treat a primer as a live shell, unloaded, except when necessary. In Va a muzzleloader is considered unloaded if primer is out of the breech plug. This is a good time to mark the ramrod (Loaded status) because you know it has a charge and bullet. Check for loaded status with ramrod next hunt...
