    pedersoli rifles

I've experienced this many times over the years with various Rigby, Whitworth, and Volunteer repros despite what others have said that a wad ALWAYS results in better groups

    Curious ?

Although I have been a member over there since 2006, I only go to the sister site to look at the classifieds. Even in the percussion forum you'll get far too many "use a PRB" or "get a flintlock" responses when that has nothing to do with the topic.

    Peep Sights

I use Lyman, Williams, XS and custom made peeps. My .451" White M98 has the ghost ring XS sight set up (now sadly discontinued) on it and boy does it ever hammer running deer.

Correct, Euro and Jap firearms use metric

    Need some screws.

NPT or National Pipe Thread is used in plumbing (obviously) and certain automotive and industrial applications usually involving liquid transfer. Pipe threads also have a taper in them. That's how they seal up tight to prevent leaks with a little thread dope. UNF (United Nation Fine) and UNC...

    Need some screws.

The rear sight screws are 6-48, meaning a #6 machine screw with 48 threads per inch. I haven't had an under rib off a barrel in years. T/C used standard USA gun screw thread pitches and sizes like 8-40 and 6-48. I have to ask though, NPT? Lol

Changing Rear Peep Sights and holes in the Tang

I have no idea of your abilities but I would build a base that mounts to your existing tang holes then drill/tap the base for the Soule sight. One thing I would never do is put a wood screw into the wrist of the stock. I had to build custom sight mounts for my Whitworth and Volunteer rifles...

    Triple 7

I have seen this before with both T7 and Pyrodex loose powder that was stored inside with closed tight lids. I had it happen at different times with a bottle of Pyrodex P and RS back in the '90's. My friends have had it happen with T7 while I was there shooting with them. New fresh bottle opened...

    Black Horn

Being as Pyrodex and T7 pellets both use a black powder booster on one end I would think Blackhorn would work just fine doing the same.

    Input needed

I never had to deal with kids or unauthorized personnel. The interesting thing is that when I switched to real black powder back in the late 90's I never had any form of hang fire when leaving the rifle loaded. It would go off a month and a half later like I just loaded 5 minutes ago.

    Input needed

Decades ago when I used substitutes I always seemed to have a hang fire if I left a #11 capped side lock rifle loaded for days. It would range from just perceptible to quite noticeable.

Lyman is out of the Muzzleloading Firearms Business.

Agreed. If anyone remembers the T/C Hawken was $995 when they dropped it back in 2012.

Lyman is out of the Muzzleloading Firearms Business.

WP79Vet, Muzzle-Loaders.com has the Investarms line up starting at $479 up to $650. There is no way for a USA company to compete with that.

Lyman is out of the Muzzleloading Firearms Business.

Exactly. Take away the optic from the most advanced modern muzzleloader and it becomes a 100-150 yard weapon for 90% + of shooters and some even less.

Has anyone ever had a R.E.A.L bullet move off the charge?

One thing I do when loading for hunting is to load an interference fit bullet on a clean barrel at home and carry bore size bullets for in the field reloads. The oversized bullet won't move in the clean bore and the bore size makes reloading over the fouling easy. The powder fouling keeps the...
