    GM barrel

I very much enjoy shooting the .54 with PRB but the accuracy I'm looking for is not there in the tc 1:48. It likes maxi balls and 425gr Hornady GPB but it absolutely destroys my shoulder after so many rounds 80gr 2f goex. I can shoot PRB all day. Here in PA your lucky to get over 100yrd shot...

    GM barrel

If he was making them for the tc, he's not anymore via his response to my email. Only up to 40 cal.

    GM barrel

Yes I did already. He said only up to .40 which I have no use for.

    GM barrel

I also contacted Jason at rice barrels and he informed me they only make up to .40 cal.

    GM barrel

I also emailed green mountain few weeks ago and they told me they are no longer making the tc drop in barrel and do not have and left overs in stock so I image track and other big retailers bought them up. I also wanted a .54 barrel but in slow twist that I could not locate. I did see tracks has...

    GM barrel

I decided to purchase a GM barrel from track's because I wanted a RB shooter and since they don't make them anymore, I figured I'd enquire one while still around. It's a .50cal 1:66 twist cap. I had an extra stock that I wanted to play around with. Anyone with any info on this barrel would be...

    T/c hawken rifle's

Update on the .54 cal I swabbed with #13 between each shot and had good results with RB and .018 ticking patch. I played around with different charges 2f goex and had some hornady GPB. I was able to get 2 accurate shots before clean with these and a lubed wad. This barrel does have some neglect...

    R.E.A.L .54

Well so far I found 120 rounds for 40.00 pre lubed. Seams like decent deal but no idea how well they are made and 120 rounds just is too many for a test fire.

    R.E.A.L .54

I'm not into casting yet and want to try some different conical bullets for tc hawken .54 Does any1 on here cast and sell these or no1 some1 who does? My gun likes hornady GPB but I've read hornady is not making these any longer and like to try something else. Thx

    T/c hawken kit gun

I just added another hawken to my collection and it's a .50 cal flintlock kit gun. Serial #K11877A I'm curious to know what the "A" means and about how old this gun is. I guessing it's 1:48 It doesn't have HAWKEN stamped on barrel like I've seen before. I was told earlier ones dont. The...

    T/c hawken rifle's

Yes I will try swabbing after each shot with this gun. I've had other guns that **** well dirty and didn't matter much. I will focus on PRB 1st then for hunting, try the GPB. I will say, 90g of powder and 430gr GPB out of .54 kicks like mule.

    T/c hawken rifle's

I'm shooting on a bench with tripod so I'm very steady. I never used a felt with anything and these GPB are fresh sticky. I'm gonna try ticking patch .018 and swab after each shot. I won't use hops to clean. I'll try different approach, spit. I also have a lyman's GPH flinter 1:28 that also took...

    T/c hawken rifle's

No I'm not swabbing between shots. I typically like to take 3 shots be4 that. It seams like this gun does like a clean barrel though. I also noticed my patches are burnt to a crisp. Do you think I should also try a wad on top of powder?

    T/c hawken rifle's

I had the .54 on range today. I will say I'm not satisfied with what had tried. I started with 70gr 2f goex and PRB at 60yrds I couldn't group much. I shot 3 rounds then cleaned with hops #9 BP solvent and patch lube. I worked my way up to 90gr. Tried hornady GPB with 90gr 2f goex and all over...

    T/c hawken rifle's

Hello all, new to the forum. I recently inquired both a t/c hawken .50 and .54 rifles both caplocks and both seam to be from late 80s / early 90s so I'm assuming 1:48. Tomorrow I will be shooting the .54 Any advise in load combo is appreciated. I typically use goex powder but I do have a jug of...
