Need help identifying nipple thread size in Renegade

I looked at Track and found 1/4 x 28 oversize. One of them was .10, .15 and .20. The nipple I have has 20 written on it so I ordered the 20 over one. I hoping for the best. The one I have is still usable, just wanted to go ahead and get another one for when I need it.

Need help identifying nipple thread size in Renegade

Well just made it back from the hardware store. Their gauges had nothing exact. 5/16 is way too big. The only thread even close was M7x1.0. It would start in it and then get too tight. So I am somewhat at a loss as to what to do. I don't know whether to contact track of the wolf and have them...

Need help identifying nipple thread size in Renegade

Guys I have a Renegade that I was about to replace the nipple with a 1/4 x 28 like my other TCs. The slide in pretty easy. I looked at the old nipple and it said 20 on the side. I measured the outside diameter of the threads and they appear to be .265 where the 1/4 ones are .250 (obviously). Am...

Gun didn't go off on a big Tom

Thanks Lewis, I will order one of those nipples and follow your advice. I was using goex 2ff. I believe I probably dumped the powder in too soon and the alcohol hadn't had enough time to dry and it soaked some of the alcohol or perhaps some of the light oil in the fire channel into the powder. I...

Gun didn't go off on a big Tom

Had a great hunt yesterday which didn't end with a bird. I set up on a high ridge well before daylight, put my decoy out, set against a tree and began to lightly tree yelp at daylight. A bird gobbled so close to me it almost scared me. He was about 60 yards away. I yelped lightly again and he...

Having a barrel rebored, need advice on caliber

Thanks. I sent it to him and put on the note that I would be shooting round ball but would like the ability to shoot Minie balls out of it. I really don't know what he will do. I believe the old 1861 Springfields had a slow twist and shot the Minies well. Round ball will be what I primarily...

Having a barrel rebored, need advice on caliber

Guys, I am going to send a 1 inch Renegade barrel (50 cal) to get Bob Hoyt to rebore it. I was wanting some advice on caliber. I have had 54's and have some now. I was thinking 58 caliber. I was wondering what you guys might do. This will just be a fun gun to shoot at the range or perhaps take...
