    Interesting Doc Comment

Yep, Doc sent me a stiffer spring - cured all ills!

    Bullshop

Yeah, Dan and his wife run a low budget operation, and you may receive bullets in home-made boxes, but there are a lot of options on the website, if you're patient. And Dan's quality control is unmatched IMHO compared to other sources. Also, they are very responsive to questions, e.g. about...

    Rings and bases

Would these work on a Bison? Interested; thanx

    White Bison colorado edition

Ditto the big, heavy slug. My .504 Bison does best with Steve Brooks 500 grain pure lead (from Dan at BullShop) over a felt wad and 95 grains Pyro P. YMMV

    Cleaning question

Thanks, I like it! How do you keep the brush attachment from unscrewing with CCW rotation?

Thanks, Ed. Could you provide a product example? Thanks

    Cleaning question

Thanks, hallofin! That looks like what I need. I tried looking for a brass brush in 19/32", but couldn't find any that didn't require orders of 12! BP threads are 5/8 - 18, so the above should work well

    Cleaning question

I have a .504 Bison. I was wondering if you have any tips to better clean the foremost BP threads and throat area. I use PTFE tape on the BP and shoot Pyrodex P, so I'm fanatical about cleaning, but that area gives me trouble. Brass and nylon 20gg brushes and patches over a 50 cal brush don't...

    Lyman peep backwards?

Looking at multiple pictures on the White site and web, almost all are mounted on the left side of the receiver (mine on right)... Reversing parts doesn't look feasible - I'll just go with it as is.

    Lyman peep backwards?

I own a .504 White Bison with a Lyman 57SME peep. Contrary to the user guide, turning the windage knob clockwise moves the site (and POI) to the right. Not a huge deal (figured this out PDQ at first range session), although the windage indicator plate is barely in the hatch marks at the extreme...

    Estimated BC: .504 500 grain

Thank you sabotloader! :2cool:That's the post I was thinking of... should have entered "White" in the search box :wall:

    Estimated BC: .504 500 grain

Thanks Guys! These of mine are Steve Brooks mold (by Dan at Bullshop), pure lead, flat nose. If that adds anything...

    Estimated BC: .504 500 grain

I've been searching the forum and elsewhere online for hours, and realize the complexity and limitations of BC. I seem to recall some poster's range data with similar weight and caliber bullets in the past. Just looking for an educated guess to plug in to ballistic calculators for rough site-in...

    Declining Interest In Inlines?

I'm reasonably impressed with Sportsman's Warehouse here - far better selection and prices than the evil merger giant...

    Bullet sizing quandary

Thanks; this was one of his videos I was referring to above re: NE bases. I shoot Pyrodex P and have never encountered any leading on my patches. I tried some .54 dry felt wads (Maine Shooting Supply) and didn't see any accuracy or consistency changes... I tried some knurling yesterday with 2...

    Bullet sizing quandary

Also saw this from Doc's site "ALL .504 BULLETS ARE CAST AT .505, SIZED TO .5035 AND LUBED WITH WHITE’S BLUE POWERLUBE.

    Bullet sizing quandary

Thanks. I'm reluctant to go bigger than .5040, because the NE sizing pack .504 was a bear to load - deep land scars on the bullet (I could see breaking a ramrod with it). I should have mic'd them before ramming :wall:Those sizers may have been alloy (I recall reading they had some "bad" lead in...
